Do you believe that our universe was created (if so, by whom?), that it evolved (if so, details, please) or that something else happened (explain what and how)? I know that there are many different opinions held on this subject by many different people, and I am curious as to what you all believe.

I believe in the scientific view to this question.. .The world was created through Big Bang... And the mass that came out from that bang, spread continuously.. the more it travelled in all directions, the slower the speed of evolution got!
Your question 'how did this world and universe begin?' doesn't sound proper... It didn't begin!!! It just happened... There was no one to pull the strings... It was just a process (just as life is!)...
I firmly believe in the 'big bang theory' and its past effects... have fun!

Well the universe begin in a small point, which is so called big bang theory. The origin is a point, which is expanded with involving the air, gases, spaces, origin of hot gases compressed in pressure, light rays, slowly the sun, planets,(earth),meteors, halleys comet, natural satelite, water, Oxygen, gravity, species, dinosaurs, apes and finally the man kind!

Why did this happen when it did, and what caused it to happen? Thanks for the response.

Astronomers are of the view that there was a big bang around 14 billion years ago.Prior to the big bang all matter was concentrated on a tiny space. After the big bang the universe began to expand.Out of the remnants of gas and dust arose various stars and planets that we see around us.I feel this is the most logical explanation I've come across.
