I'm a newcomer in MyLot. 'just registered yday and spent time reading discussions. I made a comment on a topic few hours ago. Anyway, maybe I just wanted to give way to my personal craving to READ, WRITE and BE HEARD. Back in my college days, I wrote some short love stories and made a few bucks from a newspaper. After graduation,I submitted some articles for two magazines and got paid (not that much really) before I landed on a good job that supports me well financially but is not in any way related to writing. Up to this time though, I wonder why I find myself occassionally browsing the internet and searching for sites that offer people the chance to write anything of their interest and get paid (?). This might be my first and last to this site (hmmn, my job does not give me much extra time). But I'm happy that I was able to spend hours reading a lot of other people's thoughts through it, even gave this chance to write my thoughts too. But really, if you were in my shoes, why would you prefer WRITING over your STABLE JOB?

For me, writing is a release. If I'm having a really bad, stressful day, I can always work on one of my stories and forget about everything else for a little while. And writing lets me use my big imagination! That's why I would prefer writing to a job (although I'm a student right now, not working!)
I hope you do get more time to spend on here! You could post the poems and articles you got published and show off to all of us! :) I bet they're really good/interesting!
I'm going to add you as a friend just in case! You and me already have one thing in common!

I'm always posting snippets of my stories on here and I get a LOT of editing help with them. People on mylot have a lot of great ideas and notice things I don't! So I like to try and offer my help when people ask it to!
Let me know if you post any of your stuff on here!! I'd love to read it :)

What can I say --- THANKS REALLY! You enlightened me enough to have me coming back for more of MyLot. I think I'd actually enjoy posting comments for other people too. And yes, I felt revitalized yday after having blurted out my sentiments. Writing did the job eh...? Thanks friend! :)

Thanks for that advice. I guess I'll be staying here for quite a while and spare some time before I go to bed. I felt better actually, after reading your responses. I felt welcome! :-)

If you are looking to get back into writting, mylot does help keep your creative juices going. I hit dry spells and come here and answering posts help release my brain so to speak. Typing some well written responses here and there helps get you thinking and has helped me on several projects I've done.
You don't have to log in everyday Thersdae, but it's nice to come back here everyonce and a while and think about things and respond to them.

Thanks kpforgames!
Actually I've been coming for more after the first three responses I received. It gave me enough encouragement. I couldn't help sharing this to my husband and he said I can spend at least 2 hours daily before we go to sleep if I'm not that tired yet. Thank God he's very supportive.
And I did! I've been indulging myself on some discussions and was able to post at least 4-5 comments a day in my two hours time. 'been here for a week already and I'm so glad I did stay. :)
You can expect to hear from me too in your discussions! :)
