i love horror movies and i know a lot of people that do especially my brother and yet some people just hate the movie SAW even though anything else horror they love.. is SAW now kind of a genre of its own to where its an acquired taste of horror? its more deep it seems since the people die by machine/puzzles etc instead of a crazy man with a chain saw but still the gore it there.
do you think the SAW movies are an acquired taste even for horror movie fans? do you think the difference of it not being a person but a contraption is what makes them uninterested?

I have no idea...i know i like the saw movies...but for like psychos with chainsaws...not really my thing...of course i am peeking through parted fingers in some of the scenes in saw...but hey i have a sensitive stomach and a tendency for nightmares. I have found a few psycho killer movies that i like though.

i like all types as you know.. gore and suspense lol.. but funny a lot of people just dont want to see the chainsaw movies for some reason.. i think its the fact of a freak going around and chainsawing people and eating and making furniture out of them lol

wow girl you are sure making the most of being confined. actually i think anything we grow to love is an aquired taste. like when the kids were younger and i was much younger they listened to ACDC and i couldnt stand it. then,in between marriges, i had a boyfriend that listened to metal music and guess what? i grew to love it. so that taste was aquired i guess. anyway, we are waiting for Saw 6 right now from netflix. yes son and i both love to watch those. funny thing is, i dont like chainsaw movies.

i like horror.. thrillers. specially psychological/visual thrillers. but ive never gotten into gore.. and for me the movies like saw, or hostel, or the hills have eyes type etc.. are nothing more than special affects and gorey details. i dont find that all that frightening really.. just sorta disgusting.
best horror flick ive seen in years? the messengers. *nod* LOTS of visual goosebumpyness in that one
