Who's gonna be Pacquiao’s New Opponent?

After the fight with Joshua Clottey of Ghana, who do you think will be Pacquiao's next opponent? Is it Mayweather, Mosely, or another fighter?
I have read from somewhere that if the negotiations for the fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather didn't push through, Coach Freddie Roach is thinking of picking Edwin Valero, an undefeated Venezuelan southpaw boxer, as his next opponent. He has a professional record of 27-0 who is a former WBA Super Featherweight Champion and former WBC Lightweight Champion. It is also said that Roach is also thinking of a rematch between Marquez and Pacquiao because of their last two close fights between them, putting the conclusion of the match of who's really the best between the two boxer.

The best fight for Pacquiao is the May 1 winner between Mosley and Mayweather. In the event that it does not happen, the next best fight is the winner of Cotto vs. Foreman for an 8th division title. Other than those 2 fights, there are no significant challenges that can be offered to Pacquiao.
Valero is in rehab in Venezuela right now for hitting his wife.
Margarito (Arum's favorite) is a disgraced boxer and it would only be beneficial to Margarito if he fought Pacquiao. Pacquiao gets absolutely no pedigree in defeating Margarito.
Marquez (Roach's favorite) is overmatched. Pacquiao will kill him at 147.
Morales is a joke for claiming he's better than Pacquiao at 147.
It's either the winner of Mosley-Mayweather to cement his legacy, or the winner of Cotto-Foreman for an 8th division title to defy history books once again.

Very well said, tokouchi. You're very well informed about boxing it seems. I'm a newbie to boxing and only has pacman as my favorite boxer so far and I've tried to follow his career. Anyway, I hope to see him fight either Mosely or Mayweather (Mayweather mostly to rock him a bit down his pedestal). It will be a tough fight among the best boxers and I think will be the most interesting fight of the century.

Just a casual fan sir. I analyze boxing as i see it. Mayweather is the ultimate fight for Pacquiao right now. If he beats Mayweather, his legacy will be unquestioned. As casual gamers would say, he's the "Boss Fight". This fight has got to be made, this just absolutely must be made.

I would love to see Pacquiao fighting either with Mayweather or Shane Mosley. I would be very happy to see Mayweather's face being hit by the powerful left hook of Pacquiao. ROFL! Shane Mosley is a good fighter as well. Ive been his fan for long more than mayweather who used to be arrogant. Cheers for Pacman!

Well I guess whoever wins between Mayweather and Mosley on May will be the next opponent of Pacquiao. That's going to be a very very good fight. I might even put some bucks for my card. LOL!

Me too...I'm still waiting for the fight to push through so that pacman might knock some sense to mayweather to put him in his place. he has been so arrogant and i want him to be taught a lesson in humility.

Well its depend on Toprank big boss and trainer Roach. Professional boxing is big money maker, most likely they will try to convince the winner of Mayweather-Mosley bout.

Yes, I have a feeling about that too. Whoever wins between Mayweather-Mosely bout will be Pacquiao's next opponent. If it comes through, it will be a most-awaited moment in boxing history. Yoohoo!

i would think pacquiao will wait for the winner of mosley-mayweather bout ( mosley being the champ and floyd just a challenger with no choice to fight him instead of fighting pacquiao). that's the only fight left for him unless he hants to climb to super welterweight division and fight the winner of cotto-foreman bout which is a good fight.
but honestly if he cant fight mosley whom i think can easily beat floyd in my opinion of mayweather if he's lucky then he should just retire and stay away from that deadly parkinson's that every boxer is experiencing in the late stages of their life.

I think floyd mayweather will be the next boxer to face pacquiao and I think mayweather will win that fight because I believe that mayweather is the best technical boxer in the world, his hand speed body movement at the power the power to destroy the game play of the opponent.

If Mosley will win against Mayweather I believe that will be an interesting match-up. Mosley is an offensive fighter and that will be an exciting fight to watch. Fight fans are clamoring on the fight that we all want to see which is Pacquiao vs Mayweather but that could turn out to be a boring fight because Mayweather would just dance around. Valero would be an enticing opponent but I don't think he could beat Pacquiao at this moment. He needs to fight A class fighters first before stepping up against Pacquiao. He is also not yet a big draw in the US according to Toprank CEO Bob Arum. Marquez is an excellent fighter but I don't think he can keep up with Pacquiao in the welterweight division, he was just too slow there.
