what will you do when you get a salary lower than you expect?

I take myself as an outstanding worker and my boss just give me little salary which is less than my expectation.Every day I want to resign nevertheless I don't know if it is right to do that.
my friends ,if you were me,what would you do?

I will feel very bad if i get my salary less than what i expected. But then i wont get hurt by that. instead i will put my full effort in obtaining my expected salary.
