not your cup of tea, my dear. Most coffee drinker sips it with sugar, a dash or so. But for some coffee afficionados , they drink it black, meaning no sugar, to really savor the taste of it's bitterness, especially with espresso. I sometimes drink coffee without sugar.

Hi, youless! I seldom drink coffee. I prefer plain water. But my friend once told me that I shoud drink coffee instead of smoking. In order to give up smoking, I tried coffee. I didn't put sugar in it. It tasted bitter but I enjoyed the bitter taste. I did smoke less at first but sometime later, I smoke no less and I had a toothache. Finally I stopped and I smoke as usual. I have never tasted coffee ever since!

hi youless Yes I love my coffee hot and black and sugar free
as for one thing I am diabetic and the last thing I need is
sugar in anything. also I love the brisk sharp taste of good
rich black coffee. Also contrary to a lot of peoples thinking
coffee is really good for diabetics and drinking three or four
cups a day has been proven to ward off diabetes. also a large
study was done of a lot of elderly women who drank four cups of]coffee a day as they were proved to have ninety percent less senility and coming
down with Alzenheimers disease. so thats one great reason for me at age 83 to drink my beloved black coffee at each and every meal. I intend to keep my mind active and alert and not senile til the d ay I die.

I used to drink coffee without sugar all the time. It was mainly because I was trying to lose weight. In fact, I used to drink 3 or 4 cups of coffee a day. Then, my chiropractor told me to cut it down to one cup a day. I guess too much caffeine is not good for your joints. Actually, too much caffeine is not good for anything, lol. Now, I can't drink coffee at all because I get nauseated from it. Even decaf makes me nauseated. I went to a doctor several years ago who said it was the oil in coffee that my stomach hurt. Kathy.

Hi youless,
I actually can't stand sugar in my coffee. I can taste even the tiniest amount in it. Like one time, my friend and I got refills and our cups got mixed up and even tho both were empty there was a little trace of sugar in the bottom of her cup and on sip and I thought I was going to be sick. ugh!

youless,
I like my coffee which are usually fresh roast strong, so it will be without sugar but I will add milk or creamer with it.
I know it can be a little bit getting used to, but I can assure you that it is definitely a much healthier option especially when you and I know what sugar does to us these days. Our waistline, if you can catch what I mean here.
Besides, once you have acquired and learned like me, you will appreciate coffee in a different light, a true one.

youless,
I would really encourage you to consider using non dairy creamer or full cream fresh milk with your coffee for a try to reduce the bitterness of the coffee.
Sugar as you know is really not good for health when you have too much of it and sweeteners just do not go very well with coffee most of the time. And, brown sugar is quite expensive.
Try it, I am sure you will learn to fully appreciate gourmet coffee in due time.

I can't imagine myself drinking coffee without sugar. I thought people who do his are crazy but it turned out that there are really people who like the bitter taste of sugarless coffee. In fact i have several colleagues who do this. But it's not for me. Personally the sweeter the coffee the more i like it, especially if it's brewed.

Hello youless.
I love coffee very much and I enjoy it evry day, sometimes twice, sometimes once. But I drink coffee everyday. Yes, coffee tastes well with a sugar. So I am drinking my coffee with a sugar. No. I lied you. I am not drinking coffee with sugar, to be honest I am drinking sugar with a coffee. LoL. I put at least 4 teaspoons of sugar in my coffee. I like it verry sweet. That is why my mom is saying that I am not drinking coffee with sugar, but sugar with a coffee.

Yeah, for me it is more better with a sugar, but my mom loves coffee without a sugar and I am wondering how he could drink coffee without sugar?!?

I don't like coffee. It tends to make me gag. I'm the person who needs to add milk and flavorings if I intend to drink it, and even then I don't drink it often. I usually go for tea, or an energy drink of some sort, should I need the boost.

It's healthier, and I've found it has far more options to taste even before you think of adding things like sugar or milk (and I prefer my tea straight up in any case). I can generally find a flavor and strength for every mood I have. That's just something I can't say for coffee, even after considering all the things you can add to it.

I like my coffee either way. I used to use a flavored creamer which contained sweeteners as well, however, I decided that I could live without the extra calories. I think it really depends on the type of coffee you use and if it's fresh. I hate coffee that's been sitting around too long, it does get bitter. Fresh coffee is fine and I suppose an acquired taste. Same with tea, it's nice to add a little sweetener, but I can live without it. As a special treat, I like to make a Mexican coffee ... I warm up a cup of milk, add a strong dose of Nescafe instant coffee crystals and a couple packets of raw sugar. Ummm, delicious!

I drink my coffee black. I do not want milk or sugar as they both tend to make me have more stomach acid. Only if it is really bad coffee do I add cream and sugar, to turn it into more of a sweet treat, if I really feel like I need the caffeine.
