You may be right my friend but how come you're still a nine just like me? . Just kidding. Your reputation really depends on how others rate your discussions. I have doubts about this before but just recently, i tried to disagree to one of the discussions that a "friend" started. and guess what? i noticed that i got a 2 point decrease in my reputation the next day. Sound like a coincidence? i don't think so. I have had a ninety in my reputation for several months already, it went to 88 the following day and that was after i disagreed and voice my own opinion against another member. So my advice to you, if you really want to get a 10 here is be extra nice and just agree to all discussions here. Mylot has clear rules on how we rate discussions but those are just mere guidelines, it's still up to the rater if he or she follows that rule or not. At the end of the day, its still the rater whose in control whether to give a plus or a minus on your comments. Cheers!

Hi siliguri, Our rating (star) would only move up or down if some mylot user give a rating to our posts. It would goes up if more people give a + rate to our post or vise verse. It can be archive easily if you could make a lot of posts whether it is a new discussion, response or comment. Starting a new discussion and receive a lot of responses from it would help us to increase our rating because we can give our comment on every response and/or comment there. But making a lot of posts alone was not enough. We need + rate from other users otherwise it would not bring anything to our star rating. Your total post (number beside your username) also play a role in your star rating movement. The more you have in your total posts, the harder it would move. I believe it was depend on the percentage of the rating compare to our total post. This is not conform but I believe so.

hi siliguri I agree with you. I think make a high quality discussion or comment. if the quality is very high, the others will give your more response. :)

I actually thought we only go up if some gave us a plus. But this is a new way to try. I am new here and desperate to build a reputation. I hope your suggestion would be of good us to me. Do you have any other sugestions to prosper in mylot.

Hi Siliguri, The only way we can improve our ratings is by posting quality posts. If you actually give good inputs to a discussion, then the chances are that you will be rated positive. That will help you in your rating. Mylotters who have 10 star rating are usually members who post quality posts and thus they usually get positive ratings from others. Even some new members get a 10 star as soon as they complete their 100 post counts. That is because they are helping and sharing good views in the discussions. Giving comments to every response in your discussion does not help. It just increases your chances of getting rated. There is no trick in it. You have to work hard to get to the 10 star rating. It is no way impossible and quite easy to achieve if you rely on quality and be patient.

i think i agree with you on that. i have not tried that yet though. i sometimes just reply to some of the discussions that i have posted. i was wondering how to get a better reputation. thanks for letting me know.
