Modern football fans seems annoyed by those teams playing long balls.what do you think about this? For me football is a tactical game so there is no such gameplay that should be applied by any clubs. They should focus on the results. But its great to have clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona that makes football a beautiful and elegant game.

Hi razim,
I think long ball was an English style in the past and some team in England still use this style effectively especially if they have a few taller players that can control the ball effectively.
Even though most of us as a football fans does not like it, but it is one of the manager choice if they though it would give them the precious three points. There is nothing wrong in it actually because football is a result base game. It does not matter how you earn your points. And that is what teams which involve in title run and those who try to avoid a drop to lower division want. The result.
We all love to watch Barcelona and Arsenal style of play. They actually play a total football which is founded by a Netherlands coach. And they do it effectively. They play one touch football and the fans really like it. They also produce a result from it.

Hi friend even I don't like to watch games where teams engage in playing long balls..this is typical style of the Scandinavians and even teams like Ireland use this tactics to great effect..teams that have tall strikers generally resort to play long balls which brings the lenghty striker into play..however if the long ball is not used regularly then I don't have any problem..what makes the play of clubs like barcelona attractive is the nature of their free flowing football..they possess several playmakers and ball players or gifted players in their ranks which enables them to play with such flair..but all clubs are not loaded with such gifted players and so the coach needs to formulate his strategies accordingly.Still given a choice I won't like teams playing long ball game..short passing with through passes in between are more attractive.Isn't it?
