Hello friends!
I feel that I can claim to be a learner here on myLot. Since I joined mylot I have learnt a lot from each and every post I started or participated. I could learn from different views and perspective, which others shared with me. There are so many learned and intelligent mylotters who always helped me broaden my vision and knowledge base. When I start a new post, it becomes a new learning experience for me because invariably I get some unexpected responses, which twist the issue and give a new dimension to a post. I am thankful to all the friends/users who participate in my posts and give me an opportunity to learn new ideas/things. What is your opinion? Do you also think that forum of mylot is a ‘learning board’ or a ‘learning platform’ and you get to learn from new posts, in which you participate. Many thanks in advance for your response.

Hi Deepak,
We are always a leaner till the end of our life. I too got many opportunities to learn many things from mylot. Even if with my topics, after starting and reading the responses from different people I realized that I knew only too small part and I could learn major part from the members who participated in my discussion. This platform is really helps us to sharing knowledge and experience. Many are expressing their real experience in their life which always encourages us. We are getting positive energy that is the beauty of this forum.

Hi Sree!
OH Great! You are very correct, till we are alive, we are a 'learner'. Reading views of others, give us a wider vision and we then only realize that how little do we 'know'. Yeah, it is very true that most of the time, we get positive feed back and it enhances our thinking pattern. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful views.

I am a researcher. I am always finding some subject to research and I learn alot that way. I can spend many hours delving into the most fascinating things. I was researching the story of a kidnapped boy once and found all kinds of interesting things about a ring of child kidnapper that took young people and tortured them to make murderers out of them. Horrible, huh? I was astonished and kept delving. You just don't want to know what I found.

We all are learners Deepak and life is the greatest teacher if only we keep our minds open and flexible. Now mylot being an integral part of our lives now, obviously we all learn something new here every day! My biggest lesson was that no matter where people live and in what types of societies (developed, developing, underdeveloped) we all face the same problems, we all think of identical solutions and we share the same human emotions. The differences are superficial, the core is the same.
Oh! and I must add that I've learnt a lot about different religions and rituals...the history of races, and places on this planet which were confined to my books. On getting to 'talk' to actual people from all over these places, has been an amazing experience for me.

Hi Sudipta!
Yes, we need to keep windows of our brain open to receive
new ideas and information, we should not shut ourselves,
believing or assuming that we have learnt enough in our life.
I know that you have been doing lots of research on
topics related to religions and rituals (smiling).
Thanks for sharing your wonderful experiences here.

Hi Deepak,
Well, I feel not only you but we all here are a learner. Why?? Because life itself is a learning point. The more you get to know, there are many which you need to know..in mylot..too. I have learn here how to complete a task and then how to make friends and many more things here. At mylot, many of your issues are also solved, sometimes not but most often. You can learn from you past experience and from the post always about an individual. Discussion are something made by the mylotters and you know, you can actually know about the person too, bit of characters, how the person would be in real through their discussion, posts, responses and comments...
There are still more to learn here and as I spend more time here, I can learn more like you.
Take care, nice topic you have come up with. Thanks and have a nice day!!!

I think it depends on whether or not you are open to learn and also the people who answer your questions. if the people who respond are only here to earn a few pennies then they are less likely to give you a quality answer than those who are here because they enjoy using the site.

I'm a learner too! I have learned a lot since I signed up here. And for all the learnings, they even paid me for it.
New things are not just learned from googling if you want to learn something. You always have someone who knows everything about that thing in order to understand it fully, am I right?
And everyone is a teacher here too. Not everyone knows everything here. There are people who are knowledgeable on other things while on some not. So anyone could teach anyone whatever they want to learn and share. Even if you think you know something, there are still other details you have to know about, right?
Everyday is a constant learning experience. And in Mylot, every discussion seems to be a class where everyone could participate and share their views hence being a teacher. And everyone could read about it and learn new things.

Aren't we all learners in this world,Deepak? We all learn from our experiences and people around us. No one knows everything when they come into this world...even the self-made man learns things from somewhere or the other. It is upto the person how to interpret what they see and hear around them and form their own opinions.
As for your question, mylot has been a learning ground for me...about different people and their culture, how different people react differently to the same situations, how my friends think and react...etc.

Hi SV!
We all definitely are learners in this world. It is true we gather our experience bit by bit and learn step by step, as we move ahead in our lives. Mylot has been a great learning platform for all of us, undoubtedly. Thanks for touching upon an old discussion.

Hello Sarah!
Yes, it is so true that asking questions helps us and
we get to know different views on an issue, which we
cannot think of ourselves. Different opinions and experiences from
other users make our vision broader.
Many thanks for your kind words about my posts, it is great
friends like you, who invariably decorate my posts with
their wonderful and thought provoking responses. Without
the participation and support of all my friends (including you) I would would not have reached at this stage.
Have a great day!

hi dpk oh indeed yes I have learned and keep on learning from almost every post I make as I meet people from all over, and learn their'
customs, Yet I also find that on a lot of issues we do have things
'in common too. I feel we are never to old to learn, and if we quit
learning we shrivel up inside and invariably will die soon. the human mind is meant to be used all our lives not just in our childhood and working years but til our deaths.

Hi Hately!
I fully agree with you that we are never too old
to learn, we should always remain windows of our mind
open to receive new ideas and information. It is true
when we share our opinions, we find that many things
are common among us. Thanks for sharing and enriching

It is true that this is definitely a learning platform. When there are people discussing a myriad of topics there is learning to be done! I have found out new facts, heard interesting news and received help in dealing with personal problems. I can honestly say that finding and joining MyLot has changed my life in many ways. Sometimes during my day when I am doing a particular thing I may recall a comment from a MyLotter and it may change the way I do it. Yes I am certainly a learner here and everywhere else in life!
