My phone rung early yesterday morning which is unusal. couldn't imagine who was calling that early. It was the local undertaker, one of my former customers in my beauty shop had passed away. Her daughter ask for me to do her hair. Even tho i haven't been able to work in nearly 5 years I TOLD HIM OF COURSE I WOULD DO IT. i DID HER HAIR FOR OVER 20 YEARS. Would u have done the same thing? I lost so many customers due to death when i was working because alot of my clientel were older ladies. I loved everyone of them. Do u love older people??

Hi. ANTIQUELADY. I am very sorry about your customer passing away. Yes, I would do her daughter's hair. That would be a great way for you to have another client on your list. I do love older people. I have talked to many older people and they are very nice. When I am depressed with my own problems, I enjoy listening to them. They make me feel better and they always have so much to say. I hope that you are making it after losing so many of your older customers. I am sure that you will have many clients as time goes on. Take care.

This must have been a touching moment for sure. I am sure the older generation loved and appreciated you as much as you did them. Personally you can learn a lot from them, and most of them have been thru things most of us could never imagine. My husband works for a Retirement home where he has been for 26 yrs. now and have seen a lot of people come and go. But there have been some people who even I have gotten to meet and know that when they do pass on you are able to take a little part of them with you and Glad you knew them for sure.

Oh you are so very kind to do this for people who have passed on. You have a good heart. Do I love old people? Yes, I do - especially as I am getting on in years too. where I work there is an elderly lady who lives in a rented apartment. Her son lives about 3 hours away so she doesn't see him much and she had not lived on the Island for over 40 years. He said that she could not get a car. It was ridiculous. My security guards would get taxis fir her but her rife is so limited so I gave her the encouragement to buy a small car. She is now so happy as she can join a Church and start to make friends and just go out for a drive along the coast if she wants to. I told her that it is her life and she must live it. She is now so happy to have the freedom to do what she wants while she can.Blessings and have a wonderful Easter.

I love older people above all others. I have always had a great respect for them. Maybe it was because my grandparents raised me or maybe it was because of the man that my grandfather was. I don't know which but I remember being very young and getting fighting mad at my peers if they so much as thought about disrespecting someone that was older. Alot of younger people don't think about things being disrespectful but I did and it would take very little for me to call someone out over it.
I hate that you lost someone. If I were in your position, I would have agreed too. Take care.

Good morning Jen, Thanks for your sweet response. Your grandparents did a great job raising u. U know i'm a softie about my grandparents. They were the greatest people in my life.I think if u don't teach your children to respect u they aren't going to respect anyone. Going to meet ANNIEFANNIE today. hope u don't see us on the news tonight, lol. Hope u & the girls have a great easter. hugs.

Good morning Gabs, good to see u on here. I know u have missed not having the internet. I would be lost w/out it myself. For years when i was young & my customers were young to i said i'd never do that & then one got killed in a car wreck. When her daughter called me personally & ask me to do her hair i couldn't tell her no. Have a great day. hugs.

Sorry to hear that. I am a mess with doing hair, but if I knew how like you do, sure I'd do it. As for older people, you know it just depends on the person, younger, older, doesn't matter as long as they are good people.

Unlike you, I can't stand being with old people for too long...Although I think that I would be a nice person if I can please them, but for now I choose not to. I guess it's because I'm not used being with old people.

I already lost my grandmother and grandfather too.And i really love old people as well but not everybody.Because i dont get to see or deal with other oldies in our place. All im dealing with are the ones in our family, and as of now we are all good with each other, hoping we can be like this all the time too.Treating old people is like practicing how will i take care of my mom when she grows old, and to see them smile alot makes my day complete too ;)

You left a legacy with your caring and your talent. Yes, I would do the same thing if I could. I am reaching the age that many people who were "the older ladies" are now passing on. It feels a little strange.

I am sorry to hear that you lost another one of your former customers.
I know that several nice people that I've met at mom's have passed away over the last few years I've been going over there.
Some I really, REALLY liked, and a few I've been down right upset to hear they passed.

Sorry for your loss there..it's really sad to lose someone we love..even as a client or something. Yes, I love older people..I believe most of them have the wisdom and insight to share their stories with the younger generation. I get baffled when I see people not respecting the elders, and I hope they will change with time. Especially when they look down on the elders whom have no materialistic means or something. Take care..

Hi Zed, thanks for your response. One thing if everyone is lucky they will live to get old. Some of these folks that have no patience w/us old folks may have to remember that when people have no patience w/them when they get there. Hope u have a happy easter.

If I hated older people, it would be the same as hating myself, as I'm one of them. As to whether I'd do the hair of a person after they were deceased, No, I wouldn't, as I'm not a beautician. However, I'd do whatever requested if I am capable.
