hello fellow mylotters! I took my dog well puppy for a long walk yesterday and just wondering if they sweat, i mean they got hairs so they should have ways to sweat then. I mean that's what human have right? Anyway, i take him for walks everyday but it doesn't seem to wore him out, he is still very naughty after the walk. I took him for and hour walk, which is too much for him (online research), then 20 min walk, etc, everyday i try to change it but still nothing makes him feel tired. Oh he is just way too hyperactive and plays all the time.

Dogs do not sweat, that is why they pant, to cool themselves. What kind of puppy is it? Normally an hour walk for a puppy, he would be tired and calmed down when you got back home, depending on the breed. Some breeds seem to have endless amounts of energy.

To reasons he seems so hyper, he's only 4 months old and min pins are a hyper breed to a point. As he gets older he will start to calm down a bit, but he will always be a very active dog, that breed is just like that. The most 'hyper' dog I've had is the one I have now, but it is because she has beagle in her. They are a very active breed also. But she will be a year old in April and she is starting to calm down some now, she loves being outdoors, but when inside she is calm.

Well, basically dogs sweat..yeah.. they sweat.. The question is where? What part in there bodies?.. Dogs have difficulty releasing sweat in their bodies.. The only part on their body where they sweat is on their nose and toes..yeah you read it right, its on their toe.. Have you not observed, they always have their tongue out.. they do these in order to release the heat on the body because they don't sweat a lot like humans do.. About the hyperactive thing, it just mean that the dog is a healthy one,. you should be happy and proud of it.. you raise it well, healthy and strong..

I'm sorry if i have made you confused, but what i mean is that dogs sweat through their nose and paws.. and together with panting with their tongues.. that's the only we they release the heat in their body...

I think it is not, I never noticed even once in my dogs that it sweated. They just got thirsty after the long walks and let their tongues out for better inhale. If they feel so hot they wanted to move on the ground and do something to ease it hotness. They also walks any where to have a better feeling and go back at home when they feel tired also. They will have rest and nap in the shade of the cars and automobiles or under the shade of the tree and sleep.

Well that is good your puppy is so full of energy. I don't think dogs sweat but sure do dehydrated. YOu may notice their tongue gets dry as they are loosing too much water, so be sure to give it water.

i don't think so. Their skin is full of hairs that prevents them from sweating.

No, they dont. Dogs dont have sweat glands, unlike us humans That is the reason why they let out their tongue,to release the heat within.

Dogs do not sweat, they have no sweat glands to do so. Dogs pant to cool down.

I think dog don't sweat. They spank to cool of. I usually take my dog for 45 minute. He will stay calm for hour or two, after that he will active again all day. I think your dog is not hyperactive, I think they have very good stamina more than us. My dog can play all day in the house and never seem tired.
