How to sleep when you are not sleepy?

Close your eyes and think of the most beautiful and relaxing place you ever! This should help you relax.
Avoid the source of light in the room! Covers digital clock, and if the window or the door comes a ray of light, trying to cover, and then uses a scarf to cover your eyes. Your body is more receptive to sleep when it is dark.
Temperature adapts. Room temperature would be more better to cold than is comfortable. A slight decrease in temperature induces sleep. But do not be too cold, especially the legs, because if you're cold feet, surely you can not sleep, so you put some socks!
These are methods that i applied when I did not feel sleepy, but i must sleep because tomorrow i will have a hard day.

Usually I try to do something to make myself sleepy. Watching t.v., playing a video game, something of the sort to make me feel sleepy. I also try to think about things to make myself sleepy, and generally one out of the three helps. If I can't sleep I just use the computer until I can as well.

Is a good idea, to watch to tv, maybe to a boring show, or something like this...yes this can make me sleep as well

This actually reminds me of a time when my husband and I were just dating. We were laying on the couch and fell asleep because the golf channel was on! Since then if we needed to sleep but could not we'd just turn that channel on and we'd be asleep or sleepy very fast!

Well, it's easy! Make your eyes feel sleepy...Do the most bored thing for you! Perhaps, you can read a book that you don't have any interest into it or you can watch a really boring / lame movie so that you can fall asleep but don't do any excitement / active stuff like eating, exercising, go online, play games before you wanna go to sleep! All those activities will only make your eyes feel more fresher than before & definitely you can't fall asleep right away!

Are nights when i can sleep very easy, but are nights, when i really can t sleep even i know that next day i must to be in fresh way, something boring is not to hard to find, yes, can be a good advice

One way to sleep when you are not sleepy for is to not think at all. Thinking of some things could make you more awake. Just close your eyes and so some breathing exercise (yoga breathing is a lot better). You have to relax so fall asleep.
Some people like to sleep when the lights are on while some like it off, depends on the person.
If counting works for you(especially when you hate math then you can try that one too)
Drinking something hot like hot milk can help you fall asleep too. Please do not drink anything with caffeine tough. :)

Hi, yes, hot milk with honey can help a lot, but is strange, if i want sleep and i will think in this, i really can t sleep, maybe i must just don t think on this...

As far as I am concerned, I think I have a good way to make me sleep when I do not have the feeling of sleepy. The way I will suggest you to do is to listen to music which can be the soft one. I think it can do a lot help to you sleep.Have a nice sleep.

Usually if I am not able to sleep and want to sleep then I just pick up a book which I would find really boring and just after reading maybe a page or two would fast asleep. This is my technique I hope it works for you or maybe you can listen to some old soothing music as that also helps.

to read a good book, make me curios, and want to read more and more...maybe just if i will read a boring book, can be a good solution..

If I am not sleepy, I drink a glass of warm milk and I pray. Sometimes I read my textbooks, in that way I will easily get bored and will somehow help me fall asleep. I make sure that my television should be turned off and if I wanted to listen to some music, I prefer the mellowed songs or the love songs.

if a person cant sleep then its better for him to get up and be busy, like here in mylot so his mind will get tired or perhaps watch movie till he fall asleep. i normally just go online and be busy reading nor posting responses here in mylot as it makes my brain and body tired then i will lay on bed to sleep.

When someone suffers from insomnia,may be his friend will tell him to count the sheep,one,two,three,four......,and then he will fall asleep quickly.Sometimes I am in the condition like this.I am not sleepy,but I must sleep because I have to study or work the next day.But the trouble is that whatever I try to do,I am still in good spirits,I am not sleepy at all.Then I try to listen to the soft music,the music bring me to the another world,and I will sleep fast.I think this is a good way to fall asleep when you are not sleepy.Maybe you can try.
Drinking a cup of milk is also good for sleep.When you are not sleepy,you can drink a cup os milk,lay in the bed ,listen to the soft music,thinking nothing,I believe you will fall asleep quckly.

I usually listen to the radio when I'm not yet sleep because it will guarantee me of tired mind so I do that everytime and it really helps a lot and also there are times I'm daydreaming so it means I make my mind worry about things in the future,haha, kinda weird but I like that

i have discovered something, which i call "exercises for happiness" - whenever i get in a sleepless period, i do them before sleep - 20-30 mins and you sleep like a baby after bath:)
and they also helped me to lose some weight - not much, but constantly and without any efford :)
