About motorcycle terminology

Dear myloters I need some help with motorcycle instruction translation: In my instruction I have a sentence - "It is important to know that your motorcycle will start and idle without your needles, slides, or main jets in place." And I can't understand what is meant with word "slides". Anyone can explain? Maybe with some picture...???
