From CNN news, a Massachussette female student committed suicide, due constant bully from her fellow school males. That is a horrible news to hear, and the most horrifying fact is that school teachers and administrator knew about it, and they didn't even do anything about it to protect her. This instance is everywhere in school, and it is common phenomenon. We should no longer be quiet any longer, and we should make this anti - bullying law to be effective, and strictly enforce it. It is not only applied in school, but also other aspect of our lives. What is your take?

I know how that girl felt. I too was picked on a lot at school and was bullied. I had tried to handle it alone, but I ended up getting my parents involved. I cannot believe that the school administration did not step in and help this girl out. I feel that an educator should have stepped in and stopped this horrible incident. If the school had done their job this girl would still be alive.

I agree with what you say here. but it is too late. There were parents formed a group to protest this kind of behavior in school, and blame on the educators lack of measure to stop these bullies in school. The educators as well as those students should be punished accordingly.

yes i agree with you. there must be laws to protect people from bad people. as they just follow the laws and those people who dont care about the law just get advantage. and can now law give the life of that girl. it is not possible.
in my country government has done good job few years ago. there is a law against these kind of bullyness.

This entire story is just depressing. Sadly, I've read other stories about similar incidents. These things are just depressing.
The school should have done something about it. Bullying is never acceptable. Kids are emotionally fragile. This girl was actually Irish, I believe, and had moved to the country relatively recently with her family. So she probably didn't have the support system that good friends can help create.
The only problem that could potentially arise from an anti-bullying law is that it could be seen as violating the 1st Amendment. It needs to be carefully worded so that it would protect victims while not being seen as unconstitutional.

I read an article about that incident a few days ago and it broke my heart. I think they should definitely enforce the anti-bully law. People don't realize how much effect they have on other people, and they should definitely be held responsible for the abuse force others to endure. Those kids were arrested and I hope they keep them in jail for awhile and make them do community service and slam them with fines. My prayers go out to her family and to everyone elses' families who were ever victims on any kind of hate.
