Have you seen a thread getting locked in mylot? I have seen so many times a thread being deleted for not following the mylot terms and conditions stipulation, but never ever saw a discussion getting locked or closed. Locking a thread is very common in so many forums online. I have seen in everywhere but never in Mylot

As everyone has said, threads are not locked at myLot because it's not a "regular" forum. There are other functions that you'll commonly have in many forums (such as the ability to edit or delete your own content) but you won't be able to do that at myLot either. Everything changes when you are talking about a forum that compensates you for your participation. That takes it out of the realm of a "regular" discussion forum. It's also why it's really important to read and understand the guidelines, terms and conditions, as well as the FAQs... because what happens in "other" forums may be handled very differently here :)

We don't lock or close discussions. myLot is not your ordinary forum website!

Thanks for the information. It just goes to show how the freedom of speech is being respected in Mylot.
Yes I really like the way Mylot is organized, allowing everyone to participate in a discussion. Many forums in the Internet don't have that pride.

hji vince like Go ask Alice said they do not do that on my lot. some discussions are deleted as they did break mylot rules, and consequently all of us who responded to that discussion also lost our discussions. but nothing is locked here or closed. we are a good bunch at mylot really and they are fair,as the rules and information are there for all of us to read, and if we chose not to read it and break the rules, we have only
ourselves to blame.

Hi VinceMcMahon,
Why exactly we want to lock or close any discussion? It would be okey if it is a question and answer session when we can lock or close it after we get our desirable answer for our question.
But this is discussion and we are taking about something that evolved. Something that might change in a near future. If we talk about some event then it maybe not relevant after a few days, weeks, months or years but we still can discuss the side effect of those event.
I like they way is done here because it is also give a chance for those who was not here when the discussion was started. It give a fair chance for everybody to get involve and share their thoughts and experiences.
