What do you think of my work?

This is my work right now. I'm a collector. What I collect is with a collateral. Sometimes they pay us sometimes they don't. Some people find it convenient for us to call them for so many reasons. One of them is that they have a lot of work to do and that they don't have time. They even thank us for it. One or two debt is down and they need to focus on their other finances. Some don't really like being called, specially when we're calling them at work or while they're sleeping, or what not. My point here is that they should know their contract, specially their due dates and the amount they need to pay. Yes we do provide solutions to make things work for them and it works. We are calling to remind them about it. We're also not calling to nag about what they owe us. We are letting them know that in the end, there are consequences for non-payment.

I believe in earning an honest living and it sounds like you're in a pretty stressful profession, so my hat is off to you for doing it. I have never had debt collectors calling for me but right now my husband and I are having a problem with phone calls from a collection agency who is looking for his son, not him. His son defaulted on a credit card, he's a "Jr" and we're listed in the phone book so I'm assuming that's why they're picking on us. When they call I ask them for the last four of the social security number on the account, explaining that there is a "Sr" and a "Jr" and that this is the "Sr's" residence. They always give me my stepson's last four and, when I tell them that this is the son, not my husband, they call me a liar. We have also received bills in the mail from this agency, which my stepson has basically ignored. So, I was recently forced to send them a cease and desist notification by certified mail.

I've been nagging my stepson for a while about not paying his bills. He's almost 30 and has no appreciation for his credit score right now but some day he will. My husband and I have excellent credit but we've always been financially responsible. If any of the reps from this particular agency had been even a little bit cooperative with me and asked me if I had a number for my stepson I would have given it to them, which is what I did with the video store he hasn't returned a couple of games to. But, it's their loss now since they were so unprofessional.

I hope your stepson realizes this soon. He's actions towards being irresponsible will definitely get him nowhere in the end. Specially that he's of age now to take stuff seriously.

It's nice to know you have good relationship with your creditors! For what I know usually when they are being sent out to agencies, they really had bad debt. But then again I guess they're dong their work. Not to call you a liar of course! Remind your stepson he needs to pay up. Or the company he owes will do more collection efforts and at the same time you might be called again. We hope not! It's your right to place your number under "cease and desist".

Your work is a very descent one but truly involves stress hardwork and patience. Is it really the work that you love? if you are happy with it then go on. If not, better find something that even you're tired, you still love to work still again and again.

You know, you have the perfect answer for this. It's definitely not the work i love and decided myself to. That's the reason I write and go to places and believe me, I paint and act. These are my outlet. I have a mentor in theater who said find a work that you love the most and you will feel not working at all. I am new at this stuff, collecting. I don't want to give up easily because of the amount of patience and hard work that I need to put to. I want to learn everything that I can. You'll see there's going to be one day that I'm going to decide to where I am and where I want to be.
