In the village where I live, we got a lot of stray cats. They don't have a real home but they seem to trust people. For a while ago a female cat started come to my house. We gave some food and it came by mere and more often. My daughter wanted to keep the cat and we invited the cat to eat indoor. Now it lives here and it goes outside everyday and come back every day.
When winter started a small kitten suddenly appeared at the house. We kept it outside, but he was hungry and shaking cold. We opened the door to the bicycle room and he stayed there, never left. I noticed that it has strange sounds coming from the lungs and I was in no doubt; the cat was sick. We took him in at gave him warm and food. But he got more and more sick. I decided that take him to the doctor and he had pneumonia. He got some medicine and after a while he was ok.
Now we got two cats :)

Like you I have taken in stray cats over my lifetime. First growing up my mother was the type to want to take them in, then that trait kind of rubbed off on me. My partner is also the type to take in stray cats. But, our complex has a limit on the number of animals we're allowed to have. So no strays for us.

definitely!!! we have had a lot of stray cats.. my mother really loves animals and she doesnt like seeing dirty and malnourished cats (and dogs) around our house.. kittens are really cute and irresistible on their first few days and my mom would usually find a lot of them around our house..she really cant help but adopt them..but as they grow old and learn to steal food from us, we eventually just let go of them :(

oh sure i will...i'm not just a cat lover but an animal lover as well...which means i love not just cats but other animals too. i got dogs, quails, pigeons and lots of hamsters. i have a puppy named yen and she's an epileptic pup...we give her extra attention and care...she's a smart pup despite her illness...we assure her that she's always safe and loved.

I've never had a cat, and I can't say I don't like them but I prefer dogs. I just can't trust cats because I don't understand them, so I never try to pet them if I'm not assured by the owner that they are used to it and they would never bite or harm me.
When I was young, though, I used to bring food to some stray cats living in the park near home, but even if they would follow me until I got home, I couldn't adopt them 'cause I was living in a flat and the rules didn't allow us to have pets. Or that is what my parents told me, because now I remember a friend of mine got a little dog some years later... I'm a little bit confused here... it could be I got tricked by my parents at that time.

you are so kind!
on my part, yes i also do adopt stray cats. just lie my cat now, i just got her when we moved in our house, she's like so thin and looks so hungry that time and so i always give her food, and she's one kind of a shy cat and looks afraid to people...but as time pass by she becomes sweet to us as well and maybe she already recognized us as her owner. now she can freely go in & out of our house...and from her, i was able to have another 3 cats!
coz she gave birth already 3x and each birth she have 4 kittens! haha
but we are giving away the kitten to some friends who wants them coz i can't manage to keep many cats in our place...

I really would love to take in cats if only my parents would permit me too. They would not allow me to take care of them. What I do with kittens I find helpless outside is give them to someone who can take them in. The world is a harsh place for a small creature.

I am ok with taking in a stray cat. My husband isn't such a cat lover but he understands my maternal need to take care of all things. lol We've taken in a few over the years and all of them have become family pets. Nothing is more pitiful than a hungry kitty meowing for some love and affection. I can't seem to really ever say no to strays and cats are no exception.

We did take in a cat.
A couple of year's ago we saw a cat round the back of our house. We kept seeing it every so often, till on day I went outside to see if I could get closer to it. It ran away the first few times of course (well I think, my memory is not the best).
Slowly it got used to us and we started to feed it. It started to trust us and let us pet it.
Now, a couple of years later it's almost always in out house and very loving towards us. So we are like its adoptive family.
My mum thinks it used to have an owner, that's why its so used to human's.
I just adore her now and would be sad if we didn't have her, she loves it when I pet her and likes to sleep on my bed (even though I don't like it as she sheds a lot lol).

All our cats are strays who visited and never left. One of our cats, came one night while the house was full of visitors. She came in like she owned the place. The other cats didn't like her at first but she and one of the other female cat ogt chummy, though catfights (lol) cannot be avoided.

We've actually taken in plenty of stray cats. Currently we have three cats (Azrael, Loki, and Uri). We got Azrael from the shelter as a stray. He'd been there for a couple of months already, so we decided to take him. Loki we got from a friend of the family. She doesn't have much money and her cat had kittens and she couldn't afford them, so she asked us to take one so it'd have a good home. And Uri was the last one we got. She was at the pet store as part of a shelter outreach program trying to get stray cats to have good homes.
The only pet we've actually taken off the street was our first dog, Djinn. He was wandering around one of our friend's house and was just a puppy, so we took him because we were afraid he'd get hit since he'd been wandering around there for quite a while and no one seemed to claim him.

Definitely yes. But then again other people might not do the same thing specially if not a cat lover like me or you. But if im in your situation i would do the same thing too. Giving homes to those kinds of poor cats is more like giving shelter to our brothers and sisters who are in need. I just cant resist the sound of a cat crying. Makes me want to hug the poor creature all the time. I dont know why even if im a guy my affection for cats is just enormous.I have 6 cats all in all in our place and im still willing to have more
