I saw this being used as "forum signature" by one of the members of the online forum I'm actively participating now. I tried messaging the member asking what's the meaning and why he is using this, he did not reply. This really got my attention since the usual line I see is "Don't talk to strangers" only and now, someone has added "when your mouth is full". What's your view of this?

Maybe it's a combination of the two sayings: "Don't talk to strangers" and "Don't talk when your mouth is full". It might be sort of a mash-up between those two famous maxims. And as to why he chose that, I'm betting the guy was just trying to be funny and original at the same time. I mean, you'd definitely wonder what it means when you read and it gives the member the attention he might have wanted in the first place.

Yeah, I think he has a "funny bone" and at the same time he wanted some attention... and he got it from me! LOL

hi magtibaygom how odd and I think its a little sarcastic too.
To me you should not talk to anyone with your mouth full as
we cannot understand what you are saying. It would sound like
guryumbwoibhai and that does not make any sense. best to swallow the food first then talk but strangers, what on earth does that have to do'
with strangers? odd statement. My view is that this person should'
have done a bit more explaining instead of just dumping that
statement which sounds a bit nonsensical to me. Today I have seen
'and read several discussions which did not make sense as the
person was too lazy to add a sentence or to to explain what
he meant. You had to sort of guess or read between the lines,so'
why not take five or six minutes to make your discussion understandable if you want our responses. I know I always do as its hard to understand some if they do not explain what they meant. a few more words would have cleared up the mystery.

Thanks for that. I can see you did not fully understand the topic that I have started above. I suggest you also take five to six minutes before you respond and down-rate a topic. If you want to know what I mean with this, please try re-read the discussion again because I think you have misunderstood it.

i think it still make sense. oldies have always told us to never talk when your mouth is full. and so, talking to strangers is also taught. so even if it's not a stranger, you should not talk when your mouth is full.

It sounds like it's one of those cute, sarcastic comments where it's kind of making fun of the whole "don't talk to strangers" thing. Everyone's so used to hearing that that it's really easy to make fun off.
Matt Kirshen (not sure if I spelled his name right) who was on Last Comic Standing had a skit that made fun of it in a similar way. He said that his parents used to give him good advice, but for the wrong reasons. They used to say 'Don't talk to strangers....you'll bore them'. ^_^ I think it's just something like that, something that's kind of cute that's supposed to make you laugh a little.
