lol...are you trying to say that men aren't intlligent? I'm a woman...but I'm sure you might get brickbats from men who will be reading this:)
But on a serious note, men probably prefer intelligent women because it will be nice to have a partner who can keep up with them, hold an intelligent conversation and understand them better.

I think it is a wrong perception that men go in for women who are intelligent. Generally, it is seen that men are intimidated by intelligent women....they prefer their women to dumb down their intelligence rather than put it on display...especially when they are around. Although men may outwardly appreciate intelligence in women...but they do prefer women who cant think for themselves and can do their bidding without countering when going in for a more permanent relationship....ofcourse there are always exceptions :)

"Opposite attracts"; might be true in case of those who are attracted towards each other. I believe in, "birds of the same feather flock together".

I'm actually not aware of the statistics that men prefer women who are intelligent. Personally, I like intelligent women too. However, as far as relationships is concern, I do not want a woman who is more intelligent than my capacity. The reason is because wiser women over men in a relationship tends to be dominant and become not submissive.
I definitely understand that men and women have the same rights in so many things. However as far as Biblical aspect is concern, Women should be submissive to their husbands.
