Applesauce is definitely in my top 10! My favorite health food, though, is hummus. It's so affordable. Costs like 3 bucks for organic hummus and 1.50 for pita bread. It's a great source of iron, vitamin C, folate, vitamin B6, and fiber. My second favorite health food is flaxseed. I add it to my cereal or yogurt in the morning; it's so good for you!!

I like it too, but I like making my own. I know it's fresh and doesn't include the junk the fda allows in processed applesauce. I just cut up some apples add a bit of water and cook them on the stove. I sometimes add a bit of honey or cinnamon but mostly I like it plain.

Oh, no it's very easy. You can just slice them up and cook them down a few minutes. It doesn't take long and you can take the peel out easily after cooking if you don't want to take time to peel them first.
Here is a real simple recipe and you can freeze applesauce for up to a year.
Easy Applesauce
Ingredients
* 6 cups apples - peeled, cored and chopped
* 3/4 cup water
* 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
* 1/2 cup white sugar
Directions
1. In a 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, combine apples, water, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in sugar, and simmer 5 more minutes.
[You can reduce the sugar or substitute 1/4 cup honey, brown sugar or use a sugar substitue]
