Do you share computer/ laptop with members of your family? Or just by yourself?

I share with my sister who currently is starting to get addicted to facebook's games/ application, and so she's occupying the seat more often than me. i am older and so i usually give-in to her, even if its already my turn to go online.
How about you? Whom do you share and what's your schedule? How do you take turns? What if you still want to or need to be online and its your sister's/brother's turn already? or your kids? or is it your parents?
How do you handle?

I have my computer and my laptop, both owned and paid for by myself. I never let anyone touch them without my permission. Last time I did, they somehow ended up screwing up my computer.

And that's the last thing we would want to happen to our laptop/ desktop: that someone will screw it up!

That's very cool, mogtendo64. i wish i have my own too, for privacy. its not that i don't want my sis to use it - she's welcome to use it anytime, but my only concern is that i have office files there too and who knows what may happen with viruses and all.

my friend, that is really a good thing to do! i mean, we have a life! let's enjoy it. with friends, with family. or loved ones. let us not neglect bonding time with them! sometimes, we are so occupied in sitting in the front of the computer and we let the day pass instead of hanging out with these people that are really special to us. :)

Yes it comes very handy most of the time. But i just cant spend most of my time using pc alone, like i have to go out with friends work and have time for my family too. When im pretty much done with everything then i will have my time for myself my pc and most of all mylot. ;)

hello wengsamson... welcome to mylot! ... it is commendable that you allow your kids to play games only during weekends! :)

hello autumndreamer, sharing can just be fun too! .. how about you, how do you spend your online activities? do you also play games? ... i think its just fine and would really work great if me and my sister will have a fix schedule in taking turns to use the laptop.

well i do not share my laptop as much as possible due to privacy. i have my own files both personal and office files in my laptop and i do not want something to happen to this files and if the other users will download and crash down my laptop, then it would be a big problem then.

Luckily, I have no one to share with my computer, it's all mine 24/7. LOL.. it should be available for me anytime of the day to communicate with my husband. I just play games and post/respond discussions here on my spare time.
I could imagine your situation..It must be annoying sometimes that you want or need to use the computer but you couldn't.

Now I have my own laptop and I don't have to share it with anyone, but in the past I often had to share computer with others.
When I was still living at home, my father, my brother and I shared the same computer, and we had a lot of arguments about that topic, because my brother and I both wanted to use the internet at the same time. We usually took turns. When my brother had used the computer for a couple of hours it was my turn, but he always tried to keep the computer a little longer, and I guess I wasn't much better
When I left my parents' house I shared my computer with a friend and with my ex-boyfriend. It was okay, but of course I am happy that I have to own computer today.

Hello Porcospino, Of course, we don't want to be selfish and sharing is always the value taught by our parents, but really nothing beats having our own laptop! Talks about having the freedom to be online anytime, the convenience, the privacy. There are so many advantages. :)

I have my own laptop cause before I was only borrowing my brother's PC so I decided to buy my own. Back when we were sharing we usually have a time when I would use it and when he will use it. It just makes life easier with a schedule. Hehehe.

We have all have laptops so its not an issue of sharing.
We also have a wifi so theirs no problem in internet connection either.
It so hard to share things to your siblings. Because when it will be broken then its another issue to tackle with.
That why we prefer to have our own laptops.
It cost about my one year salary but its worth it.

hello bulastika, i can say that you and your siblings are very lucky to have your own and individual laptops! .. yes, i agree that it can be an investment too with your one year salary - the privacy is something very important, plys you can do so many things with a laptop - especially work related stuff.
