Three weeks ago, I stopped feeding my face three time a day plus eating junk for snacks. I was at 326 and my blood pressure was at 140/90. So I decided to eat two smaller meals a day consisting of a Carnation Energy Drink plus two pieces of buttered toast or a small salad if in the afternoon and one regular size meal of my choice, but portioned. I'll also have a snack 2 or 3 times a day consisting of some carrots, apples, celery or any other crunchy fruit or vegetable. I walk 20 minutes a day 6 days a week I'm trying to get that up to 30 minutes.
My last checkup was this past Monday. I lost 9 pounds, so now I'm at 317 and my blood pressure fell to 130/80. Doc says the more weight I loose the more my blood pressure will fall till stable at 120/80 and I won't have to take any more medication at that point. I need to get down to 220. But I've felt (physically) a significant difference already.
What are you guys doing to lose weight and is it working ?

Good job! You should join the biggest losers. I am also trying desperately to lose a lot of weight. I returned to the gym a few months ago, but I was not paying attention to my diet. During the holy week, I resolved to lessen my intake of calories to about 900 calories and I make sure that I eat the most number of calories during the meal prior to going to the gym. I hope I get the same results as you did!

Yes, I talked to my doctor. He says that since I have less caloric requirements since I am a woman and not really working right now. But if I do get back to working, he wants while losing weight, he wants me to increase it to 1200 calories.

Glad to hear that you resolved to take care of your weight situation. Believe me, you'll start to feel so much better when you start shedding some pounds. Have you checked with your doctor to find out what your daily caloric intake should be? 900 calories seems a bit low to me so be careful.

I'm not a bid Oprah fan, but I'll bet it works for some people. For myself, I need something before lights out, but definitely NOT RIGHT BEFORE lights out.

I meant big Oprah fan. Speaking of Oprah, she's had her share of ups and downs in the weight department too.

I have to say, good job!
I maintain a healthy weight by working out, drinking a lot of water, eating lean proteins, eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, and not eating unnatural processed foods. I also keep a lot of fiber in my diet.

Excellent keep up the great work. I'm an iced tea guy myself (no sugar) but now that the warmer weather is approaching, I'll start with the water as well.

Thanks for the response. I'm an apples guy myself but I'll try anything crunchy that's healthy and tastes good.

Oh yeah, that does make a lot of sense. I've become somewhat vigilant to labels myself. Heck, I used to down a whole bar of cheese (sharp cheddar) in one sitting. Darn thing has 880 calories and my daily requirement is 2200. Forty percent of my requirement right there.
