Well, I am back around now after a weeks time of battling the flu. I actually think it was the swine flu. I did not get a shot nor did dad this year. I had muscle aches, sore throat, coughing, diarreah, vomiting etc. A slight temp but nothing of serious concern. Dad also went through the same bout and he is now at the end of it. He refused to see a Dr. even though I insisted. I wasn't going to force him as I did not go. ANyhow we are both doing well. I've been a little busy with the outdoor chores as well. More on that to follow. Did you battle a flu at all this past season? As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I don't know if what I had was the flu or just a major cold. I know I got a sinus infection somewhere along the line. It lasted a few weeks. I am sorry to hear you and your dad were sick, but I am also glad that you are both doing better now. So, your wife was lucky enough to not get sick?

I wished this had been just a minor sinus deal. She got it but not as bad. She's seldom around the house due to her working 11 hour days 6 days a week. As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hi Grandpa Bob. I'm glad to hear that you and your dad are doing well after going through such a thing. Thankfully I haven't battled a flu this past season, though I, along with my husband and kids, battled one last year. It was a doozy too. Stuff coming out at both ends at the same time, not to mention feeling completely drained. All we wanted and could do was stay in bed and sleep. And we couldn't hold any food down, not even liquids, without it coming right back up. But at least we survived it somehow. What was really weird was the way it had come on. I was fine one minute and the next I was sick. And boy, did it hit hard! Needless to say I never want my family or I to go through that again! Happy mylotting!

I actually had flu and swine flu shots at the start of the year. After all the hype, the company decided to give away the vaccines they bought because not a lot of people were having the shots. I was thinking that if they are free anyway, I might as well get them. So far so good. I haven't had any flu yet. Great that you're back well and good!

People nowadays often just treat influenza as a small thing to worry about, but in the old days, people were frightened with this sickness...not to mention the swine flu which can kill human.. I never treated flu lightly because I feel really sick when I have flu.

I am vaccinated against the Seasonal Flu, but I have to go and get the H1-N1. If I want to teach in the State of California, I have to have that shot, but, I also have to have this shot because I have Asthma and Allergies, and it is just better if I am armed. Anyway, I have had the flu before, and it never killed me, it just made me stronger.

Glad that you are feeling better. I did not have the flu this year at all or a cold. I have been lucky this year, and I hope it stays that way.

hi Grandpa Bob nope I was so lucky, and now my b est friend is down with it,she called me to say she was vomiting and diarrhea and the whole it. I had not heard from her for several days which alarmed me. so she phoned me last night to explain she had been ill. I guess she still is because I did not get my usual email this day from her. I have had the strangest time myself, I got a miserable rash on my right leg and the doctor said its an allergic reaction to something. He gave me a n injection of steroids in his office and warned me it might make my blood sugar go up, well it skyrocked went to 365 and boy did I have a headache but got it down last night to normal now I am running a bit low. the side effects almost undo the good the shot did. but the rash is less red. At least I have escaped the swine flu.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, I have had my shots so I never had any flu, but my friend who didn't have it had swine flu and her whole family came down with it, to me, its best to have it done. Tamara

I haven't been sick since the 5th grade.(I'm in 9th grade now). Even though I have never taken any flu shots or the H1N1 shot. I just hate vaccinations.

Because my roommate doesn't work at the "cube farm" any more and some how the other roommate didn't catch anything from the people that drove thru her toll booth, and my main outside contacts are my client and the nursing facility that my mom lives at, we have dodged the flu bug so far.

I had the H1N1 flu. My area was pretty hard hit with people being sick with it. The school was one of the highest number of kids out sick with it per capital. (as a result the school is getting a new heating/cooling system because the health officals decided it had poor air quality)

No, I didn't have the flu this year and I'm very thankful for that. I get the flu shot every year because I hate to be sick. We did have one case of the swine flu at church in 2009. It was a little 12 year old boy (he's 13 now) but they got him to the doctor right away. He's doing better now. Other than that, I haven't been exposed to the swine flu that much and I decided against getting the H1N1 vaccine. I'm glad you and your daddy both are doing better now. Kathy.
