To anyone who lives in portugal or visited portugal. What do you think of this country? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Is the food good? Places to visit are nice? How about the beaches on summer? Well I'll start to make the example :P I live in this country and i love it. Not only for the great food, the great beaches , or even for the great places to visit ( I recommend Portimao, Algarve :P) but mostly for it's people, most of the people are good people, always wanting to meet new people, new places, and above all always wanting to learn something new. So, do i think portugal is a good country? NO!! I THINK PORTUGAL IS A GREAT COUNTRY!! :P thanks, and reply :)

Portugal is a great country to live in and also to visit. If you want to find a good restaurant look for one with lots of locals in. These tend to be the best and most are reasonably priced. Make sure you visit either a restaurant or hotel that has Fado Music and/or dancers as entertainment. This is the traditional music of Portugal although some of the music is solemn. The beaches are lovely especially in The Algarve. The Algarve stretches from Lagos in one end to Vila Real St Antonio at the other. Plenty of beaches to visit but they do get crowded during August and latter end of July. My advice is to visit all the major towns and resorts in The Algarve but avoid Albufeira. The Portuguese are very friendly people. Other places to visit in Portugal are Lisbon, Porto, Cascais to name just a few. Come and visit the Country.

Yes the Algarve is a beautiful peace of land. I am living here too. The coast with the beaches are crowded in July and August. Best time to visit the Algarve is from January starting wih the flowering almond trees up to may when the grass beginns to dry and everything turns brown. During this time you can find beutiful wild orchids all over the place especially near the rivers where the humidity is high. A good advice is to take a few days and drive around and vist Monchique, Tavira, Silves, Alte, Estoi, Vila Real, Alcoutim and some more. You will meet then the original Algarve as it was 25 years ago before the tourism spoiled the landscape along the coast. The Algarvios are very friendly and helpful people and if you just try to speak portuguese You will get instantly help anywhere.
