Do you use public transportation where you live?
Well Imagine that suddenly the public transportation services in your town or city was discontinued how would you feel if you were a non driver who rides the bus to work or school or maybe even to the grocery store, well I dont have to imagine it because its reality for me, and a lot of other people right now, they have discontinued the public buses in my town/city, and I can only hope that this is only temporary and bus service will be restored, they say it might be.
How would you feel if you used public transportation and then it was suddenly gone in your city or town?

Oh my. I don't think I cannot live without public transport. First of all, I don't have a car, which only means I don't know how to drive. Hehehe. I don't think I can get around the city, unless my brother can drive me to all the places that I need to be...
Why exactly did they suspend the public buses? I really hope that won't happen here.

They claim that the city didnt get enough money to keep the services up and running I dont get it, all I know is that I cant drive or get around town without bus services, and I just cant afford cabs.
Many other people here depend on the bus to shop and get to work and without public transportation many people will, and have lost there jobs, though there's a small glimmer of hope that service will be restored, but I've actually considered relocating to another city because of whats happening but I really didnt want to move under these kind of circumstances.

Oh, that's just really sad, I mean, I think public transport is really the veins of the city, and if you take it out, well, I think there are a lot of people who would be having a hard time and would probably move to another place like you will...

You must be a driver, and you dont have be concerned with public transportation am I correct? if yes your are blessed not to have your livelihood affected buy loss of public transportation service
But unfortunately for me I use the bus regularly for daily and weekly things its a real bumer to have to worry about such things, its times and situations like this that make me wish could afford to take driving lessons.

I actually don't use public transportation in my area because of the fact that we don't have a great public transportation system here. I know that there are some systems that are wonderful, but ours is mediocre at best here. Therefore, it wouldn't really bother me if there was no more public transportation here. Now, I would be apt to use public transportation if we lived in an area that had a great system of public transportation because if that was the situation, I wouldn't have a car of my own.

Well before the cancellation of transportation our services was pretty good but now that its been shut down, my life will be really dificult though there's still hope that it will be restored after the public hearing there having I can only hope that they figure out a solution to restore service and soon.

thats not good, many filipinos depend on public transportation, only few have there own car or some dont use their cars because of high fuel cost, if the public transportation system will be removed the business here in my city will be paralyzed and many will not be able to go to work, no business, no work, no money then the economy will fall!

This is reality here where I live now, and people have been protesting the loss of transportation and asking that bus services be restored, I can only hope that services will be restored.
many people have been stressed about this shutdown and they will be holding a hearing to discuss this issue and maybe they might find a way to restore the services many people and bus drivers have been laid off work and some collage students are considering dropping out of school because they have no cars and no other way to get to there classes my community will be effected very badly by this if bus services aren't restored soon, myself included.

My husband and I have a car, and I don't use public transportation at the moment, but in the past I always had to go by train or bus. Most of the time it worked okay, but in some areas of my country there are no public transportation, and in those cases I had to bike or ask someone for a ride. I like to be independant, and I found it hard to live with that situation, because I always had to leave when the others wanted to etc. Sometimes it took ages to bike to my destination, and I very exhaused when I arrived, but I still prefered to go by bike, because that way I was able to remain independent.

There is no public transportation where I live. I think there might be a service for the disabled or low income to get to doctors appointments but for the public there isn't anything. In the city a few miles away..there are buses. There are a lot of people that depend on that to get where they need to go. I don't know what they would do if there were no more.

I'd be totally distraught. We can't go from place to place and complete our daily activities. It sort of halts you in your tracks and forces you to be at home or depend on others using private transport. What was the reason the authorities had to resort to this drastic step to pull buses of roads?

I find that completely unfair and i'll be so frustrated and mad. The Government should try to IMPROVE public transportation, not abolishing it altogether. It affects the environment, those who do not have cars and bus drivers will be unemployed. Why have the public buses been discontinued?

They said that they didnt recive enough money to keep the buses running this year I couldn't believe the news, and now people are losing there jobs its really upsetting everyone in my town there holding town meetings, and city hall meetings they stopped the services last night at midnight its really cant believe it, I can only pray that service will be restored after the meeting later this month
