Hi lichee_china,
I start living my home and stay at the hostel since I was 13 years old. And I rarely have a chances to go back to my house until semester break even though it is still at the same district. When I was 17, I went to study at the different district.
I went to other state to study in University. I need to went there by plane because it is separated by South China Sea. I was there for four years and I only going back to my hometown twice. The airfare was very expensive that time. During a semester break, I prefer to stay at the hostel and work at any factory around there. It is a good experience though.

i m started to stay from home since i m 15 years old. But i still can get home because the boarding school only took around 12 hours to me to get home by road. After finished my studied at boarding school, i further it to college to do pre-university semester where far away from my home. Getting back home was no an option even in semester break because it cost me a lot of money to pay airfare. and its only option to get to my hometown. Starting A few months, i really feel homesick, always calling home, even it distract me to study. It takes me a year to get harmonize with my environment there. Now i m at new place again and even more far, but i feel to get to use to stay away from home. I only going back home once a year or maybe once in two years. for me, this is time to me to learn other culture and promote my hometown. I still got 4 years to finish my degree and i like to study far away from home.
