When one is disgusted with the vocation one is pursuing it is quite natural that one would desire a change of job. The reasons would be quite obvious - loss of interest in the job, increased neglect from colleagues, limited income resources, tiring nature of work, over work , insufficient remuneration etc.

hi oh yes one has to look for something else, but in this crazy job market now do not quit until you have the new job cinched. I do know
what you mean sometimes you get burned out too but do not be too quick
in thie bad economy to change jobs until you know you have another job
to step into also you will have to give them two weeks notice usually.

Although changing job doesn't mean you will be happy in your new job, if you are currently not happy with your current job, and if you have tried ways to change the current situation but still fail, then I think it's good to move away and move forward.
Most of us spend more than 1/3 of the time daily at work, if we are not happy and contented with our job, that means our life will be miserable. I always encourage my friends and myself to move forward, if we can't change the current situation, and we are not happy at the current job. I have been thinking very hard before I quit my previous job, I want to make sure it's not my attitude problem, otherwise I'll end up changing job all the time. I still liked the job I did, but with all those pressure and extra hours needed to spend at work, low and late salary pay, also my health started to get worse because of the pressure, having nightmares always when I thought of going to work, etc. The main reason that I decided to tender the resignation letter was that nothing is more important than my healthy and happy life. I quit and move forward, and I found my current job. It's much more better than the previous job. If we never move forward, we'll never know if we are going to find the one. And I always believe, all of us deserve to have a good life. ^_^
Good luck to you!

Apart from the above reasons, no job satisfaction, odd hours especially for ladies, coupled with no transport provided on odd hours and allowed to find themselves and too many restrictions imposed for everything, which will tighten your neck, are also reasons for changing the job.

most times its actually lack of fulfillment that causes a loss of interest in your job and also you discover that most times your p[roductivity drops when this happens ,i would rather advise that you only go for a job that you love and then the money comes with it as you get better at the job

I think that when you get to a point where you feel disillusioned with your job it is time to look at moving on. It may not be possible to leave immediately but to make plans and start looking for another job will make you feel that you are at least doing something in order to improve your situation.

dear sukumar,
i agree that if you are not happy in your place of work, it is the best thing to do. there are many reasons why one person is no longer contented with his work and this is the drive he needs to find a better one where he will find happiness and contentment.
and what do one need when there is this plan? a good luck!
have a nice day,
ann

While those things you have stated are true, in this tough eccomomy, a change in job isn't always possible. Its a common fact many people feel underpaid, but its the inflaction in cost-of-living, and those not sure when and where to cut back. One gets used to a certain lifestyle, and don't want to settle for less. But, if that current job is keeping some kind of paycheck flowing then that's the main thing.

With all the above mentioned reasons i would say it is time to move along. I cannot work under those circumstances and i am sure a lot cannot. Best to make sure another job is secure before leaving your current job. TATA.

I just experienced the same thing a week ago, like i really , badly need a change thats why i decided for the best, i resigned from my job and found a better one. I think sometimes we need to make a stand and decide for what is right for us. Like with what you mentioned with your post its as if working in your previous office is like working in hell lol .You not happy your not growing therefore theres no need to stay and linger, you just need to pick yourself up and find a better good luck and godbless ;)

I do not mind people leaving jobs when they do not feel fully engaged in the job or are looking for a change in responsibilities. I do seriously feel when people change jobs just for a hike in money without understanding what is expected in the new job and then crib that the job is not good and then jump again. In India that was a trend in the IT sector and over the two recessions such people have paid the ultimate price by loosing their jobs. I hope the youngsters of today, learn from this experience and if required quit the job for the right reasons and not for flimsy reasons such a just a bit more money.
Cheers!

the job i have this time is my fourth job so far. unhappy with the management but not with the salary is the reason that i quit and seek for another job. today, i don't think i will seek another job now since it is really hard to get a new job these days. besides, it is hard to get a job in the government and you really have a good qualifications to aim for a higher position or seek a new one outside the government.

It happened to me on the jobs where I resigned from. If you are not enjoying in your job then you wouldn't be an effective employee, it would be better if you resign and find another that you are happy with. Some other factors are bosses that really grind you whenever you are on the job. Those doesn't motivate employees much in my opinion.
