Majic Jack pro/cons

I live in a rural area and have dial up.
Have you used one.
Can I set it up with my limited abilities?

I have not tried it myself but had a relative who did. For what it is worth, they hated it. I do not know if they hooked it up wrong or what. It sounds like it may be a small investment in case it does not work. I am very curious as to what others have to say about it.

I do not understand when some one says Magic Jack is not good or it does not work. Wish I am with them to explain how it works. Magic Jack is a simple unit, but very efficient and no problem unit. Installation is easy and works immediately. It definitly needs hogh speed internet. I used the unitand it is an excellent buy.

You have dial up internet connection? So, you won't be able to use magic jack then, because it won't provide any high quality communication through dial up though. You might need to consider hook up with clear, they use Winmax technology which is reachable to rural areas also.

I guess If you are from the US and you have relatives outside the country that you would like to be in contact with then I guess this really works and cost effective. Because you only have to invest one time, there is no need for you to pay monthly fess it is clear and you get to have to have a local number thus the free call to US and Canada. Your relatives can call you or you can call them for free because they get a US number and the reception is so greattt!! so it's actually phenomenonal, I should say...

Thank you, because I do not know anyone personally that has one and sure have been thinking about it. I use a dial up on my computer and only have one line coming into the house and can not get my phone calls if on the computer. When my mother was so ill i could not use my computer much for fear that my family could not contact me.
