last night we, my husband and i, saw both reruns of the two movies on cable being shown at the same time. of course we looked at the other channels and had seen nothing interesting. then given the choice between the two, we're cinematic effects fanatics, i found myself going to, guess what? iron man. i think spider-man's movies had been ran and reran it is almost tattered . if given only these two choice of movies what would you choose to watch?

I like iron man better. I don't know..maybe because spider man is old and iron man is a new movie. I am usually used to and got bored with movies with super powers. Iron man is unique because the hero here didn't get his strength/power from spiders nor any kind of animals but he became a superhero because of his inventions. He is the first superhero who us really really smart

i like this comment... yeah.. true that the unique thing about Ironman is that, he doesn't have superpowers acquired from meteor rocks or outer space or spiders or whatnots... his only power is his mind... so brilliant and so genius that he chose to use his inventions to be a hero...

I would definitely go with Iron Man. I don't mean that literally but, I know you know what I meant (^_^")
Not that I don't like Spider Man or its movies but, comparing the two, I just have to put my hands down for Iron Man. I like how the story goes and the effects on the movie. I also got to watch the next Iron Man movie so I really can't wait to watch that too!

hi, long time no hear. i know what you mean: you'd watch both if given the chance but the fact that iron man had been kept in the vault for a long time makes us viewers more thirsty with this film that made its impact just recently, right?

Oh, I meant I got to watch a trailer of the next Iron Man movie.. sorry about that (^_^")
Yeah, Spiderman has been out that much on cable movies, seeing a different Marvel movie would be a good idea and of course, when something is new, even though the movie has already been shown for a long time, it is still rather new compared to Spiderman's (^^ )

I prefer watching Iron man than spiderman. I have watched Spiderman and after that I never watched it. There is something about the movie that made me hmmm... boring? you know the feeling when you are not really amazed by the film with how the story went and the casts. Maybe its because I been seeing spiderman since I was a child. Iron man is new to me so I guess it still gets me curious of what happened in the movie and the characters are extraordinary for me.

you're right. i think iron man is for mature audiences. last night the part where they were rained with bullets and where the soldiers were pushed against the military jeep to be gunned and where tony stark was riddled with bomb fragments were cut. so far, nothing like this was ever done to any spider-man movie shown on cable channels, i think.

you're correct that the acting of robert downey jr. is far more superior than that of tobey mcguire awards wise. which makes me think of the new spider man movie. they're casting a no-name again and if this movie makes more money than iron man 2 then i believe it is more of the young ones in the world decided to part with their money on this movie considering that they'd put spider man back in high school in the upcoming movie.

Spider Man :
Pros :
Own powers - don't need tech or mutation to have 'em.
Cool powers - natural super strength, spider sense (very handy!), webs (although this is wrong), and agility.
Iron Man :
Cool Tech.
Gets the Girls.
Really Crazy Rich.
Yeap - definitely Iron man!

Okay, these are two really strange Marvel Comic Book characters to compare. If you are going to compare these two, don't compare them to each other because they are way too different. Tony Stark is a major playboy, an inventor, and a millionaire. Peter Parker is a nerd, has trouble with the ladies, highly intelligent and can invent things, but doesn't really make any money off of it, and is so poor he is begging J. Jonah Jameson nearly every month for a raise, and he takes care of his sweet Aunt May who has been a mother to him. Tony Stark is the guy that men wish they could be, while Peter Parker is the guy that everyone can relate to. Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and gained superhuman powers, while Tony Stark is a human in an iron suit. Again, these are completely different men.
I love Spider-Man because I can relate him. When I first read Spider-Man's story, I felt like I was literally in his shoes. I never really got that feeling with Iron Man. Spider-Man is the everyman, only he wears a superhero suit in his spare time.

Sorry to say I am not that familiar with iron man. I do have an eight-year-old nephew that is really into him though. I guess i will have to stay with spider man. He is a tried and true hero.

hi there,
I love Iron Man too. I don't why I'm not into Peter Parker character...lol but after seeing Iron Man 1 it became my favorite action hero. I love the story line of the film and the actor who portray the main character. There is a comic substance into that film, I mean it is not as serious as spiderman. Iron Man has angst and he is fun to much while spider man is a bit serious and I find it a bit boring.

IRONMAN! No doubt about it!
I've got nothing bad to say with Spidey but I think I've done my share with watching too much Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst movies... LOL
Plus Robert Downey JR is just so hot... I really like him... he's funny, he's great, and he looks good! Watched Sherlock Holmes also... LOL...
I don't know if it's just me, but when I see a good movie, I try to see also the other movies of the main actor in it...
