I would like feedback about your own experiences. The "experts" say that infants should sleep flat on their back due to SIDS. They also say that babies have a natural reaction to vomiting which is turning their head to the side so they don't choke.
Well I have a 2 month old and I sleep her on her stomach because she does not have that natural reaction they say she should have. Keep in mind I slept all my kids on their stomach because I was scared they would choke in their sleep. Today while lying on her back she vomited 2 times and both times she choked and I had to pick her up so the milk could come out.
Do you agree with what the "experts" say or do you go on your own instincts and what you have learned?

Hi, nikkij2079.
I let my baby boy slept on his stomach, and he never had vomited. And the good thing is, when he was about 1 month old, we found out that putting on his stomach would naturally let him burp. And i read from a book, it says, if the baby keep vomiting after the milk, it's better to put the baby on side. Sorry, i forgot which side. Also you need to burp the baby after drinking the milk.
I would go on my instincts and also refer to different sources of information. Not all the experts say should let the infants sleep on their back. There are also some experts support to put on tummy. I would read both parties' information, then just make the decisions.
And i found out my boy sleep on tummy works better for him. And he could lift up his head very early.
Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Now thats interesting becuase I was told, when my kids were all babies that they should sleep proped on their sides and NEVER on their backs...I can also say from experience with my kids that they DO NOT automatically "turn their heads" to vomit....I would never tell a new parent to have their child on their backs (infants I'm talking about) but rather to prop them on their sides which worked for me for all three of my kids..

i have three kids all grown up now, it does not matter how they sleep or what position, the important thing is to make them Burf/burp after having their milk so they dont vomit.
