Eating ice cubes

It's so hot here in Manila! And eating or shall I say chewing ice cubes has become a habit. I've been doing this for about a month now. Is there any implications or will I get any illness out of this aside from cracked tooth? Please advise!

hi junrap, I found your discussion now and I just finished eating halo halo It is really hot and I think this is the hottest summer we had. Though eating ice cubes may not be advisable for it can trigger your sensitive teeth. Might as well think of an alternative for it, cold drink or eat halo halo like I did

That would make me feel full always considering halo-halo is full of calories and fats and I don't want that...to add more weight this summer. I'll just try not to munch on the ice cubes, just let it melt on my mouth. Thanks!

Yes, maybe your tooth became fragile as day goes by. I think you have to stop it and replace something or try to eat icecream.

Naah...I don't think I can replace ice cubes with ice cream, I don't want to get fat this summer. LOL! Maybe, I'll just have those ice cubes crushed!

Our teeth are sensitive so I suggest stop eating ice cubes, what you can do is crushed the ice and try mixing fruits and if you like milk you can so you'll have your fruit shake!!

Yeah...I just crushed those cubes, I guess. But to add some milk and fruits, maybe once in while. I don't want it to be habit, it will get me fat soon. Thanks for responding!

I dont think theres any implications or whatsoever by eating ice cubes. Its just to ease you of the hot summer heat.I used to do that alot after eating at mc donalds my softfdrink container usually have lots of ice cubes and when im done with the soda but we are still talking me and my friends that is, then i would start munching those ice cubes one by one lol .Good thing i have these healthy gums and teeth too ;)

This habit also started when I ate at a fastfood, I found it enjoying, so even at home I've been munching ice cubes while working with my PC. Thanks for understanding my situation.

I think eating Ice Cubes is dangerous for everyone .Its more strong than the cooled food items that are consumed from Fridge. It may affect the throat and sometimes infect that part if taken regularly. It is said that one should not drink cool water once we returned home from the hot sun.

HaHa! I think it's a good idea. That is, especially if you don't just chomp on them. You can let them melt in your mouth. I know it does get hot over there in the Philippines, and I encourage you to do whatever you need to do to help to keep yourself cool. However, I do have a hard time believing that you are overweight. I was over there last year, and didn't see any native in the whole country who was overweight, only foreigners. 8) Hope you are enjoying that nice warm weather, because it is definitely better than the cold. Take care!
