So today I did 2 barefoot miles on another track. I was totally grossed out because there was some dog poop on the track, but I managed to avoid it and my feet are nice and clean and happy.
My feet don't get that tingly feeling anymore after 1 mile, but after 2 they slightly have that feeling again. Still, I'm hopeful that by the end of next month I could run the 4 mile race barefoot. I'll have to find some sand to practice on though.

Go Pigglies! Question. Isn't it harder to run in the sand?

It is harder to run in the sand, but I think the packed sand the race is on shouldn't be too much harder. My time may be a bit slower than normal, but I still think this could be fun. But if I'm not ready by then I figure it's okay to miss out on this race, it's not an essential.

I hope you are ready. Have you found a sunscreen? Sand means sun? Is there a sports 45+ sunscreen? I assume if it for athletes so it will be sweat proof.

I'll just cover up right after the race. A 4 mile race is short enough that I won't burn. Plus it's in the morning.
I have some sports sunscreen but I can't tolerate the smell. I use it for swimming sometimes. But even for swimming I finally just bought a UV protection swimsuit instead of wearing sunscreen.
