and of course, there are people who not eat red meat because is just a custom..
the thing is..
what did you do in this special day?
i dont eat read meat, not because i dont believe in god, just because i didnt eat it..

I`m an ortodox , and we don`t eat meat , cheese , milk , eggs, chocolate, and so on . We just eat vegetables and fruits, and all that not cointaines thouse mentioned above . It`s a little hard to talk about this, because english it`s not my first language . But i belive that we must do that , because in that way , we show respect to Jesus ( Hristos in my language ) .

I am a catholic. During the Holy week we never eat meat, fish and egg. Good friday we will not have milk also. As a follower of the religion we will follow the 40 days lenting. In this forty days we will have only vegetarian food only. And we will try to fasting on all fridays of the lenting season

i am not also a catholic but my family and their relatives are catholic. i am with them during the holy week and that is the reason i won't choose what food to have on the dining table. we never ate meat and we had a lot of seafood. their place is situated by the beach.

This is a tradition that I've always had in my life and for that reason, I chose to not eat meat on Good Friday or any other Friday throughout Lent. I know that there are people that question this custom, and I'm not going to judge them for that decision. However, since it is something that I am used to, I'm able to make that sacrifice and not think twice about it. Our family does really like to eat red meat, but we don't always eat red meat.

actually we do respect holly week, among catholic not all of us follow the meals things, its only means of sacrificing if someone want to sacrifice it like if they used to eat meat a lot then during holly week they will avoid meat as means of sacrifice and not because its not allowed to eat meat. it depends to the person which one they want to sacrifice in order for asking forgiveness and to clean themselves from their past sin.
like if someone are addicted to internet then that person will give up using internet during holly week as his means of sacrificing, if someone love to drink nor smoke then they can also give up during holly week as their means of sacrificing.

I don't celebrate holy friday neither easter, and I think I ate meat and fish, as I like to keep a balanced diet and eat all kinds of things to keep my body healthy
By the way, most of the christians I know don't follow that custom anyway

We eat meat or any food but after we prayed for it so that it will be cleansed. As the bible says, anything going in to your mouth is cleaned after praying and the thing that is bad is what coming out of our mouth. I have read also in the bible that in the coming days, that evil religion will prohibit some food to be eaten and also marrying.

I don't keep that tradition, although I honor Easter. It was never part of the holiday growing up.

hi alilin28 We had meat and I ate it but wou ld rather have had
fish as it was again red meat and I too like to cut way down on
that. I am protestant so I dont think we have any restrictions on
meat and good friday, but I do like to go to fish or chicken more
if I could but here at this retirement center we have two choice, eat what is given, put in a request for a sandwich, or just do not eat
it. lol Usually we do have fish here on fridays anyway as there are a number of people whose relegion does say that they must not eat meat.
Happy Easter alilin

Hi, alilin28. Our Easter Holiday isn't until tomorrow. I may be eating fish. Whitings and flounder. I did not know that eating red meat because it represents the body of christ. I will just eat whatever I have in my freezer that is appealing to my family.

I really dont eat red meat too much too, as im starting to go vegetarian. During the holy week, i had chicken.
It has been quite boring for me, as i just stayed home.
Im protestant so i have a different view about holy week.About red meat, it is known that they are not good for our health .

Hi Alilin,
Good day!
I'm a Catholic but not a devouted one. My Mom when I was still a child does not cook meat during Holy Week. She's a very devouted Catholic. However, as for me I don't beleive on that one. Thus we cooked some meat and then vegetables during Holy Week. I already have my own family. If my Mom has known about it I know she will really have a fret.
