Is stalking or pestering punished in your country?

Recently, in Italy they've introduced a law against stalking, that's to say against people that tease, insult or persecute other people, particularly during working hours. Many women were and still are stalked by mobile phone, emails etc, but now they can call the police and let arrest these so-called stalkers. I'm sure not in all countries this is the case. Please share with me and all the other myLotters your opinion and knowledge about these measures to protect people from pestering.

Yes, stalking is considered a serious matter here in the UK. As far as I can recollect it has been considered a crime for a very long time.
It would be wrong for any country not to outlaw such behavious because it can be a distressing experience for some people.

Well in our country they call eve teasing or harassment are severly punished. As we had very bad experiences and few woman are killed merciless, this law was implemented.
