Your friends want you to look after their children for the weekend while they visit a sick relative.Last time these children broke a precious vase.what would you do?Say "Yes,but would you mind having my children the following weekend" or "No,the plumbing's not working" or "yes,of course" and mentally decide to lock all your valuables away.

I would say "yes, of course" and lock all my valuables away. My reason, I want to dump my kids occasionally on them.

If it's okay with me which means that I'm in the mood to be helpful then why not? However, if I'm really not in the mood to do anything that weekend, I'd probably decline.
As for them breaking some of my precious things, it's definitely my fault if I don't keep the breakables knowing that there are going to be children in the house.

For a friend, I would do it without a doubt and lock up all my valuables. If my heart wasn't into it then I would just say that I have other plans for the weekend.

I would say yes, because if they broke a vase, everybody can have an accident. I am sure they did not do it intentionally. And when they broke it I am sure that the person in charge at that time did say something to the children about it. If not that is sort of your own fault. If you look after the kids good they will surely not run around and behave badly. It is all a matter of staying consistent with them.

hi lichee__ china I have to think on this one. If they broke a vase, I would expect these people to pay damages before agreeing to watch'
them for a weekend. I think it depends on how friendly you are with them so I would probably just put up any valuables for that weekend with the understanding that if you needed to have someone take your children they would agree to do that for you.lol lol lol.

No, your kids do not know how to behave and have no respect for other people. Hire a babysitter with the money you should have given me for the broken vase.
