Been thinking lately of how being forgiven for past transgressions gives today a better feel to it. Ever feel forgiven? What was it like for you?

I have done some things in my life I am not proud off. Being forgiven from God, is a great feeling, knowing this will not be held against me. It is a relief, knowing it is gone. That he has cast it from the east to the west, never to be remembered again. It makes me want to know more about my God and his love. He gave his only son, Jesus that we might be saved. No greater love, that a man lay down his life for another.

Why is it that we want to be forgiven for things we do, i feel we should just do things and not expect god to come and forgive us, for me god is an all powerful force that sees everything and is not vengeful or get angry or has petty emotions, god is too big and great to get sucked into small things, we should just live life and love god, surrender to him completely and not fear him.

When we forgive, we should also be able to forget. Therefore, forgiveness is only God's prerogative. He sends us into this world after he has wiped our slates clean. We remember nothing of our past wrongdoings. It is the true forgiveness, because we forget everything.
