Is he sincere for asking forgiveness just in time for Holy week?

Today I opened my mail and found a message from my former boss, who has been the cause for so much folly in my work before to the extent that I even lost my job.
It was a long time ago that the pain that he caused had sliced up my life, and I have forgiven him for what he did--I never did forget also the trepidition.
As I was reading his message, it was as if the events had just happened yesterday and I wanna cry all over.
He was asking for forgiveness.
The first thing that came into my mind was that, he is just sorry because of the seasonal event we are celebrating as christians--holy week. But a bigger part of me just wanted to throw my hands up to God and ask Him to change my heart.
There's too much pain in me, but I'm willing to forgive--I guess this is the test of being a christian.

Well,I am not a chrisian, but I do think forgiveness is the greatest virtues. As we know ,everyone may make mistakes. If we forgive others, and we will be forgiven.Actually, when we hate someone ,we will feel painful at the same time.So just learn to forgive and we will get more.Godd luck and nice day.
