Hey all as you are aware i had a problem with my laptop but i deleted the wrong file and windows would not run properly. i then installed Windows 7 but windows 7 is now slowing my laptop down alot bare in mind my laptop is 5 years old. Does anyone know how i can get Windows Xp back on there, i cannot burn the back up image to a disk as i do not have the drivers installed for my dvd drive so it is just recognising it as a cd drive.

If I was you, I would call my techie friend and have him re-install Windows XP. Then I would have him tune up my computer. But you might not know someone like this. Have you considered purchasing a new computer? I don't know if there is a way to tweak the speed of your laptop so it can handle Windows 7, but it might be worth asking a tech if it can be done.

Hi chillpill!
My laptop is NEO and it's more than 5 years already but it's still working good. I've also experienced problems with it and have thought buying a new laptop but thinking, what will I do with it when I have a new one? So, I just had it reformat instead and now it works as good as brand new.
I think by just reformatting your current laptop, you won't consider on buying a new one. I've read the discussion and in my understanding you don't have the drivers when you had your laptop. The solution is just search the net the drivers for your laptop model. With the help of some techie guys I had my driver for my wifi and webcam searched on the net because we couldn't find it in my own drivers.
It's also much safer and easier if you would hire the services of a computer technicians. They know what to do especially trouble shooting so, my advice is just reformat. It's much, much cheaper and the easiest solution.
Hope that helps. Ciao!
