I chose a Border Collie b!tch, these are the most intelligent of dogs, agile, natural tireless athletes, affectionate and beautiful, keen and loyal.
Other dogs I would consider include German Shepherd, Husky and Jack Russell.
all the best urban

Hello! You mean how to choose a dog? I would choose just the breed that I like. Yes, I would just choose from breeds and all other things just come together with it. If it is a sheepdog then it will have long fur and will be big, if it is a mops then it will be small with black nose and look really cute...everything depends from your needs. Define your needs and then look for appropriate breed. If you look for a house guard then look for a sheepdog, if you look for a friend then look for a Labrador or golden retriever! Good luck!

The art of choosing a dog. Is easy. A female dog will stay closer to home, a male likes to wonder. The breed you choose is easy, what do you what from your dog. A small cuddley thing or a large working, hunting etc. The hair is also in the breed, a mix is not what you want if you want any of the above, you don't know in a mix unless the parents are a different pure bred, example Cocker/ Poodle, Doberman/ Lab etc.

appropriately, you should select a dog based on your lifestyle.different dogs have different needs.some dogs need a lot of exercise, some are couch potatoes.some are easy to groom, some aren't.if you can devote a lot of time exercising your dog,you can have a dalmatian or a border collie.if you want couch potatoes, you can go for Great Danes.if you want a low-maintenance dog,you can have a doberman.if you can keep up with the hair and shedding, you can go for Old English sheepdog.choosing a dog shouldn't be "which dog is good", but "which dog is good for you".

how to choose a dog?? may be u should seek internet first to check what king of dog u want... its habits and attitude.. i would say its better to choose a pure breed although its costs much.long hair or short haired breed is really not an issue its depends on you if you care manage their monthly grooming.. a small dog is better coz its so cute..

I prefer large dogs over small dogs but will take any that need a home. I had no intentions of getting any animal at all after my cat got killed. It hurt so bad that I didn't want to go through that again. I was at a moving sale and they had a border collie that they couldn't take with them to their new home. They said if they couldn't find home for him they were going to take him to the pound. I couldn't stand for that to happen. I took him then and there. He had been mistreated so badly that he shied away from everyone. In the year that we have had him he has became the king if the castle. He comes in and out at his leisure. Sorry to go on and on but I can't talk about him enough. He is very smart he will do any trick that we ask of him he knows he will get a reward and lots of love.

I think in order to choose the most appropriate dog, one must consider some key factors in consideration to the best interest of the dog itself. That would be your lifestyle, how many people are present in the home and if there are children, the ages. The size of yard, your income and your work schedule.
For myself when I decided that it was time that I could have a dog, I chose by doing research on breeds that interested me.
It took about a year to finally decide. Then another year to find the dog that was meant for me and my lifestyle.
I factored in care as a big issue. Size was another and I knew first and foremost that I did not want a dog that was going to shed a lot of hair. I wanted a small dog and wanted a female. Length of hair didn't matter just non shedding.
I went for the Yorkshire Terrier. I knew I didn't want a purebred.
Finally I found a mixed breed Yorkie who is the love of my life. I have had her now since August 2008 and is the best commitment I have ever made.
