I buy books in the book sale where I usually find very valuable books with cheap prices. I go to the book sale often to wee what's new. What's good about book sale is that they sell books in very good condition with very reasonable or even very cheap prices. I love books and I make it a point to always buy a new book to add to my collections. Share your view about books. Thanks.

I've bought books from anywhere and everywhere. Used books at Half Price books, used and new books from Amazon... but I really prefer to buy books new and in hardcover. It doesn't really matter whether or not it's on sale, though you can get some great books at really good prices. I just want the publishing industry to go on beyond my generation, and for authors to be able to make a decent living doing what they do. That's why I like to buy books new.

Well, most of them are dirt-poor you know. We need to feed them if we want them to keep writing. lol

I buy books in National Bookstore. especially when they're on sale. HA HA! I also buy from book sales and book discount stores scattered in malls. There are those "Penguin Classics" where classic books only cost Php 99.00 ( around $2) a-piece. It doesn't matter how thick or thin the book is. It costs the same for every book. Imagine how glad I was when I bought Moby |ick (which is very thick!) and The Scarlet Letter for 99 each. The average price for each would be 300 and above! I also buy books in ebay. I buy books in bulk there to save shipping costs.

BTW, Penguin Classics is a brand / publisher of books. They republish books and sell them much much cheaper. The great thing about it is that they're brand new!

I tend to shop at Half Price Books first. I also shop at Barnes and Nobles. I have found some really good books in the bargain section of their store. I have found some pretty good books in that section. I always love a good recommendation.

That's great. Shopping for books should be done wisely because there are always good books with good prices. What I do is to wait for the price to become cheaper. Happy mylotting.

I agree. Bookstores usually put their old books for sale but those books are still in good condition so it is really a good deal. That would be the best place to buy. But if I really want/need a book, I don't wait for book sales anymore.

Yes, books on sale are still on good condition so if you are saving on books the best thing to do is to buy on book sale. Good answer. thanks.,

Yup. I'm always in the market for books selling for Php20 (or US$0.40). And these are hard bound books, too. I try to restrain myself from buying more books because I don't have any space anymore, but BookSale is still selling this low-priced books. I just can't resist.

I've gotten books from eBay, Amazon.com, and from a bookfair on my campus. the ones i got from eBay and Amazon were academic/for my classes. I could care less. even though i found them online they were still pretty pricey, but still cheaper than retail (they were used books). Once i bought a book from my campus bookfair. It was the Atlas of the Human Body. I got that book because i love reading about things like that, anatomy, science, physiology, etc. I like them enough to learn about stuff for fun. most of the time i'm not reading a book simply because I hate reading, especially things i couldnt care for. If i dont think i'll like the book chances are i wont pick it up. I'm not a bookworm like you lol

Good way of buying cheaper books. At least you care about buying books unlike other younger people who do not care at all. Keep reading and mylotting.

I buy books in my local bookshops and I also like to buy books online. When there is a sale in one of my local bookshops I always like to go and have a look. Some of the books that I am interested in haven't been translated to Danish and in those cases I usually choose to buy the English version online. Sometimes there is a book sale at the library and then I am sometimes able to find some really cheap books, but it very hard to find the books, because the place tends to get very, very crowded.

I'm not fond of buying books but whenever I need to, I buy at our school bookstore for textbooks.
