I use msn and i am always having to ignore new requests from people that try to add themselves to my list.I added a new friend tonight as i knew who it was so i kept myself as off line so that i could chat to this person easily and i must say i will stay as off line in the future all the time like i have been as that way there are not lots of people that try to talk to you all at once.

I have changed all the sites that i do to my husbands email account as that way i can get on with all the things i need todo rather than getting disturbed.I have now told all my friends that i will not be on msn as if they want me they can ring me.I find there are only so many hours in the day and all my usual friends can ring me or pop in for a chat.

As far as I am concerned, I have a MSN Id, but I seldom use the MSn,which is not so popular in my China among people. People here usually use the QQ which is a similar chatting tool for us. We here usually use the toool for chatting. As I have known that most people here will fisr log into qq when they first turn on their computers.

I do not see the need to talk to people on chat that i would normally see or chat to on the phone aswell as there are alot of other things that i want to be doing when i get the chance to get on the pc.I like to come on here read my emails then do all the sites that i am a member of,so now i have changed it all to my husbands email account as that do not have the chat on it.

I use yahoo and myspace ims and those you don't have to worry about that to much. As long as your email isn't posted anywhere.

When i joined face book my email address was on there right near my profile as i had not set my settings to private settings that is how it was done and then people would try to add me on msn then when i went on to msn there were lots of people on there trying to add me and i did not know who was who so i added them and now regret it as there are 200 people in my msn account and i do not know at least half of them so i tend to stay off it and if anyone wants me then they can ring me.

That is the same as what i am going to do as in stay off line as that way i do not get disturbed by the people that i do not want to talk to.I never use face book chat as i rarely go on face book.I do use my msn when i need a friends email address when i want to recommend them to something that would interest them, but i will say i am off line as that way saves alot of time.

I use Yahoo messenger and Skype but I am invisible to some of my friends in the list. For me to focus on the person that I really want to chat with. Especially if my husband is my chat mate, I have to be invisible to other friends for me not to offend them when they get in my way and I can't entertain them.

I know what you mean.I am staying off msn as i only went on there to add my friend and she only went on there to add me and we only wanted each others email addresses as that way we could recommend each other to other sites as it is easier that way.All my other friends usually text or ring me as they find that easier aswell as more personal.

Hi JJ,
I used to use windows messenger a lot but now use Skype as it is also free and more easy to use than messenger, well thst is my personal opinion, sometimes if I am signed into windows live messenger then I will use it but if anyone comes through whom I don't know they are blocked straight away just as you can block unknown persons on Skype...LoLo

Like LoLo above I am a Skype user. I have used MSN Messenger but gave up on it a while ago now. I do use Yahoo Messenger occasionally but if you want to chat to me I will gently point you to Skype every time. I also use it as a regular phone during the day. I have Virgin and with free evenings and weekend calls. But daytime calls are quite expensive and so I buy about £10 worth of credit with Skype each year and that lasts until the following year for daytime UK calls and occasional calls overseas. I also conference call and video chat with Skype.

I do have the Yahoo messenger as my chat window. But I don't really use this feature as much. When I log onto my email, a window will pop up from an unidentified chatter. I will just block this person and I will send them a message asking them who they are. I will just close this chat box out. I have no interest in chatting, not unless I am expecting a conversation from someone.

As for my opinion even though I am an avid windows user I dont use MSN as my chatting tools. I prefer to use SKYPE or simple YM to chat with my colleagues and friends.
Because others have good features than MSN.

I used to use the MIRC. I think it is an acronym for message internet relay chat. I don't know if it still exist today. hehe.. but i now use the yahoo messenger because most of my friends used it. it is easier there because i already have my yahoo account and had been using it for a long time already. i don't have an msn account, though..

I use MSN infact was just chatting there today. Usually I use Yahoo Messenger because so many people are on there is seems easier to use. And I used to use AOL and I do have it, I just don't use the app anymore. They all have their good characteristics it is just Yahoo is more convenient.

I use ym but the past few days i try to use skype and the same time it is good use into call. Mostly close friends and friends are added in this id aside from my boss in my reent job that usually i call them to report all my works. I like to chat especially if I am tired after works it helps me to releive stress.

I use Windows Live Messenger every day, it is considered part of our official communication means at work, hehe. I even added my old YM contacts to my MSN so I wouldn't need to go online in YM anymore. I don't have much problems with people I don't know adding me up. that rarely happens for me.

well, i have always used yahoo messenger since I started chatting. I haven't tried MSN yet coz I don't have an account there yet.. I use the chatbox of FB for some messages to my friends when I'm logged in in Facebook. It's convenient to use for some time.
