Astrology To believe or not to believe?

Astrology is a subject that I think could go both ways. I sort of believe in astrology. I read mine daily and seem to be able to relate it to something in my life. I do wonder how ever if this is just by coincidence, or if the stars really did foretell it before it happened. Or sometimes I even wonder if by reading it, I somehow make it happen subconsciously. There are many possibilities I guess. When deciding what to believe in I try to look at all aspects. So what do you think about horoscopes and astrology? How do you decide what to believe?

hi natnickeep The horoscopes that you read in the paper and on the internet are just for entertainment. People that believe in them will and do find a way to make sense of them in their daily lives. They are pretty basic so it's not hard to do. Also when you think about it, are all Aries going to have a romantic evening on the same night? Are all Geminis going to have a successful night at work? Real astrology requires a great deal of complicated math and knowing the exact time a person was born as well as the exact location they were born in and the exact location of the stars and planets. It's all pretty complicated and you won't find your answers in the back of the newspaper or on the web. I don't know if there is any truth to astrology or not. I once tried to figure up my own chart and gave up.

Sid has the exactly right answer here. For the most part, we do not find people in the US who put that much emphasis on mastering what they consider to be an art or a skill. I also find the Chinese horoscope as printed on the place mats to be totally out there as well. All people born in 1953 do not have the same kinds of lives. It would be boring. I know some people try to combine more than one type of astrology.

Astrology tell us the future. As I do not like to know my future now,I do not have any interest in it. In my place every child used to have a horoscope written by the astrologer. Before marriage it is very important to verify the horoscope of both the boy and girl to see whether it is matching. Many proposals are rejected by the astrologer as he see the horoscopes not matching. I read an article about horoscopes and I still believe it is the truth. You take horoscope of A and tell mother of B that it is horoscope of B and read it loud changing names .Mother of B will tell you many times while you read that horoscope that it is perfect as it matches the past of B in several instances....

I am from India and i believe in Astrology, but now the main problem is it is very difficult to find a good astrologer now a days. Some people are practicing it with out mastering it and such people are destroying the reputation of good astrologer also.I think a good astrologer can predict our future with accuracy up to some extend. In India you can find good astrologers.

Wow that is the truth also. Maybe astrology has gotten a bad name from people trying to act like they know what they are doing. Hmmm I need a good astrologer, maybe I should take a trip to India one day, but that is so far way.

I side with the famed late astrologer Linda Goodman who explained that astrology is not a belief system. When asked by a skeptic if she "really believed all that stuff" she asked him in return, "Do YOU believe in "Wednesday?" Like Wednesday, astrology isn't something comes or goes because someone does or does not believe in it. It just is. Like the days of the week, it is a meaningless concept for those who have no need of it, and a valuable tool for those who do.

I do not believe in horoscopes and astrology. And I also do not like both are. For me it's just nonsense and even if it's true, I thought it was just coincidence ... Our lives are not dependent on the star and the day we were born, but it depends on our own efforts and prayers

I agree in a way. Even if they are not true though do you think they could bring light into peoples lives some days. Some days mine gives me something to look forward to.

Sometimes I too believe on it. Cause I can relate it to my life. But I also believe that we are the one's making our own fate and destiny. Make the most of our lives and live it to the fullest.

Yes I think it is a little of both too. Maybe it can sort of fore tell what might happen in your day, but you make the real decisions and actions and everything affects everything.

The horoscopes we get in little books or the newspaper, or even online are very generic. Reading them provides you with the power of suggestion, so, if you read them at the end of the day, you can make them fit what you experienced. Most warnings in horoscopes would be helpful for anyone. I feel sorry for people who take this form of entertainment and rule their lives by it. It could be very inhibiting.

I think if you live a conventional lifestyle, they tend to run truer to form than a non-conventional lifestyle. Let me explain what I mean. I used to work in a prison. For weeks, my horoscope kept saying I would find the one I love. I taught inmates, had a female officer guarding me, was going to visit my dying Mother in a hospital and talking to female nurses. Since I'm female, not gay, could be fined or inprisoned if I messed with an inmate and not interested in them anyway, what was that horroscope thinking? Now if I was teaching and square dancing like in earlier years when I lived a more conventional lifestyle, it might have helped me to look around and find a nice guy. Horoscopes tend to help me when I'm living conventionally, but when I go outside the norm, they're no help.

i also do not believe in horoscope, astrology and luck. what i believe is to believe what are goals are and we should work on them. i do not depend on numbers, signs, etc. and as long as my mind and heart can do, i will work to the best that i can. i would say, it is all coincidence.

i could just say now i dont belive. earlier in my childhood i was very fascinated by astrology but now i dont feel they all true in any way. this is just a matter of belief only and you can trust or believe on any. why only on an astrologer.

I only believe in horoscopes if it's something good and if it relates through something I did through the day. But other than that, it's just something interesting for me to read for the day.

i dont believe in astrology at all. i think your fate depends on what you do in your life. it depends on your decisions and in your actions. its still fun though to give it a try

I don't believe a single word of what horoscopes say. People who write horoscopes have no power to see the future, and they just write some random silly predictions that can't be believed, as it's impossible that everyone born in the same month will have the same fate. I read them for fun, but still don't believe a word

i think you can rely on astrology only as a guideline - like "be careful about your money when you travel today" or "it's a bad day for arguing with your boss today" :D but i believe the important decisions about your own life must be taken not according to the lining of some distant balls of gas or according on how someone has interpreted this lining...
