Do you still use clocks (not wrist watches) and how many do you have ?

Nowadays I find people not replacing their clocks, as compared to earlier times, with a new one or repaired if that goes out of order - they always have their mobile phones to show them the time - while they still have their bedside alarm clocks though many people again prefer using cellphones for alarms and wakeup alarm too.
What do you do? Do you still replace the clock or get it repaired if it breaks down, and how many clocks do you have at home?
I have a clock in every room and yes I do replace them if they go out of order. and though I do not use a wake up alarm, in case I need to get up earlier than my usual time I use the alarm on the cellphone.

Hi uday,
when i was in my college days, i used to use table watches to monitor time and set alarms whose volume would be damn useful to wake up the entire hostel guys in the morning during exam period.
Now a days i switched to my mobile and wrist watch for seeing time.

That reminds me - when I was studying overseas and living in the hostel to know the time I just had to peep out of the window and could see the huge college clock in the university campus, wasn't I lucky as no need to invest in a wrist-watch?- that was great especially when there used to be a change in the time in winter and summer - I was not used to those changes as in our country we do not change the time according to the season - and for a newbie in such a situation it is confusing initially.

I feel that way too; though I have a cell phone too looking at the clock for the time when at home has become a habit though there is a clock on the microwave and even on the land-line phone instrument as well. And yes I do get it repaired or replaced if the clock is broken.

Like me - so I join your gang re cellphone - after a great resistance my daughter finally forced me to get myself a cellphone very recently - that too because once when we were outside she wanted to get in touch with us urgently & after that incident I gave in - but I rarely use it - mainly it is incoming calls or as a wake-up alarm!!!

We also have a clock in every room in addition to the wrist watch.I accept your view that the cell can be programmed to be used as an alarm clock to wake us early in the morning and has taken its place. But i find that when i wake up early in the morning the wrist watch is on the table and cell doesn't show the time immediately its easier to glance at the clock and find the exact time.We repair old clocks as and when they break down and only replace them if they are difficult to be repaired.

We still have clocks here at home. My mom prefers clocks over her cellphone since her eyesight is not that good anymore. With clocks, she can see better. For me, I have a clock hung in my room but I use my cellphone for the alarm hehe

Hi uday,
We are still using the clock to know the time. We are repairing or replacing them clock if there is some problem. For me a clock is more reliable than my watch or mobile phone when I am at home. The clock is visible when I am in kitchen and peeping from there. In the other case, I have to find out the watch or mobile for looking the time. I hope you got the point what I am trying to explain. So the clock has still an important role in our home.

I have one clock in the house still just because I did not carry my cell phone everywhere like I use too. I have only a prepaid cell and use it only in emgerencies and that is all. I also have a clock on the DVR and the microwave too so I know what time it is from those items as well. I do however use my cell as an alarm though to wake me up when my girls are in school. They are on spring break right now so I am able to sleep in more. Not for long though as they start up next week again.:) Nice post and happy mylotting to you.

I'm not too fond of wristwatches and I dont have a clock in my room either. although there about 5 clocks in our house. what I would usually use is my mobile phone, which I also use as my alarm clock.

I don't have a clock, and this is because I have always disliked them.
Clocks make that annoying tic tac sound all the time, and I can't sleep if I hear that, so that's why no clock is allowed into my home
If it's a digital clock, it's ok, as it doesn't make that noise.

I still have three clocks in my house and if they are broken, I just need buy a new one, no need to fix them...
It's more about taste I guess as we can see what time it is now by our handphones and notebook.

I have my wristwatch in my bedside table (only put it on when I go to an appointment) and an alarmclock with big numbers on my dressing table. But the clock I use most is the one that is part of the microwave oven. I almost never use the microwave oven but that clock is important for me. Most of the time though, it´s the computer watch that I see. As for cellphone, I don´t own one and never will as I´m against them.

Quite agree with you, nowadays ppl seems seldom to use clocks to wake up.
I prefer to use mobile phone for alarms and wakeup as you do even though I have clock never using now; as not use it for a long time, I am not sure it still works or not, let me have a look, hmm... luckily, it is still working!haha~
I think we should have a clock at least in our house even using cellphone to get time or others more. because there is always having chance to get to know time from clock such as phone is power off...

We still use traditional clocks. It's like the main clock of the house. Whenever i come home even when i'm wearing a wrist watch i always look at that clock cuz It's like family time.

We dont have a clock at home. My husband and I have our wrists watch and we also have time in the computer and in our cellphones so we dont need a clock anymore. It also annoys me looking at clocks cause they mean something else to me and that has something to do with hurrying up. I dont want to hurry but most of the time I do so to get away from that kind of mindset that I am already late, then I dont look at the time. It sounds crazy and confusing but that's what I do.
