Everyone wants to become a success. While I am not yet an authority in this, I believe I am working my way to get there. On my way to the top, here are the things I believe one needs, in order to become successful: 1) Vision. What do you ultimately want to become? When you figure this out, you'll have a guidepost to aim for, thus keeping you focused. 2) All-consuming desire to get to success, a.k.a., Passion. Do you want it bad enough to stay through the tough times? Do you want it bad enough to study how to get to your end goal with an all-consuming passion? A lot of the biggest successes in history were so consumed by their goal that they invested all their energy to get to their goals. Evan Longoria is my favorite example of this kind of tenacity. After making only 1st runner up in a beauty competition, she really studied herself over and over, and studied how to become the beauty queen champ in order to win the pageant. After a year's work, she got the crown. Many years later, she became the Eva Longoria we know today. 3) Determination/perseverance, Discipline and Focus. Without these ingredients, it would be easy to lose track of the goal we have set before us. Whenever a person has realized what his destiny is and has started on his way to get there, there is always a tendency for life and circumstances to challenge the person. Thus, when the tough times come, one needs to persevere and keep determined to make the goal. Discipline is also crucial to streamline one's life and make sure that he has minimized all possibilities of mistakes or sources of "disqualification" (aka being habitually late for work) in order to keep on the path to the destiny/goal. And FOCUS, so that even as the distractions, temptations and discouragements come, we'll keep our eye on the goal, identify life potholes as distractions, push the distractions away, and keep going. I am not yet an authority in this subject. I am just inching my way to get to my destiny, but I think these are the key ingredients to success. How about you? What do you think are the key ingredients to get to the top? :)

I totally agree with you. :) Thanks for sharing. :) I like that point on "smartwork." Truly, if you work smart, you work more efficiently. Cheers! See you around MyLot!

I agree with you and your recipe for success. I use the same basic things when I am trying to reach a goal, myself. I will admit that it is not always easy, and I do get discouraged because my goals seem to be a bit farther away, I have to stop and regroup myself. A good example would be my cleaning business. I started this almot 2 years ago, and although I still ahve most of the clients that I obtained when I first started, I amnot where I wanted to be by now. In many ways, though, the fact that I am not as far along as I thought I would be by now, is actually a blessing. If I were where I wanted to be, I would have to worry about a lot more than just my own taxes and finances, I would have to worry about payrolll and all of the other things that come along with having employees. Not being exactly where I thought I would be, no, I have not quite reached my goal yet, but I am still well on my way.

Hi there, Lynne, thanks for your response. :) Yes, I agree with you, upscaling could be something that would be too tough to handle for most mom and pop businesses. I'm a freelancer myself and those times when I had the most clients were my worst, because they were the most stressful. It really does boil down to balance. Well, good luck and blessings to you and your biz!
