One thing I'm realizing lately is that I'm spending too much time on MyLot. I'm thinking that I should modify a few things with the way I spend time here.
Here is my list:
1) Give myself a time limit. Like 3 hours max on a day with a lot of work, 5 hours on a day with a lot of work.
2) Make things every other day. Like focus on posting new discussions today, then tomorrow I'll answer all discussions.
3) I could also spread out posting on MyLot throughout the day instead.
I am learning to love MyLot A LOT and since I have such an addictive personality, I'm getting... Addicted. So I have to discipline myself so as to not ruin the rest of my schedule. Heheh. :D
Happy MyLotting, everyone!

i would also say that i don't need to modify the way i do my stuff over here. i only do mylotting whenever i wish to, if there is good connection. i still have work in the office and even i can go online within works, i have to minimize my online business. when i get home, i mylot until my eyes get tired and that's it.

I don't have any set of guidelines that I follow here at MyLot. As there is absolutely no pressure. I start a discussion or respond to a discussion if it is of interest to me. I couldn't imagine typing here for hours straight.
I have way to many online projects. I keep a tab open for MyLot...and check in every so often

Yes, MyLot can be extremely addictive but I think I have found a balance. It is pretty much the same balance that I would use for pretty much anything else that I would find online. It takes affective time management skills. Yes, I know, that dirty word, one that is the downfall to even the most organized and intelligent person.
See, I tend to only do a certain number of responses at a time and then force myself to work on something else for a time. When that task is completed, then I do a few more posts. Then I move onto the next task. Then I do some more posts. I think we have established a pattern. I never really put too much of a time frame, but I have a pretty good idea, onto how to manage everything. After all, I am going to be taking breaks in between tasks, so why not do something productive instead of just sitting down and twiddling my thumbs.
I do agree that moderation is the key. Spreading out the MyLot posting during certain points in the day will help a lot. Then you can do "X" number of posts and then go do other things, before returning to do even more posts. It really depends on your schedule. I know there are days where it can be quite a juggling act but I somehow manage. It tends to be both planning and timing that will allow me to balance MyLot within everything else but it can be done.
