What kind of person do you think you are? Are you kind of life for eat as much as you can in your whole life, or are you kind of people who eat for your life and for having energy for doing another things? I found many people who life only for eat and after they are full they become lazy even to move their heads. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I have heard a saying Live to eat or eat to live. I hope you mean the same thing. I think many of us are both of them, there are times we just live to eat without doing anything, and there are also times we do lots of things and hardly have a time to eat. It depends on the health conditions too. However there are also people who are lazy and healthy. Just living to eat and doing nothing. But everyone has the right to live the way he or she wants. Live and let live.

I completely agree with you, Phynx. In my opinion, it is hard to identify clearly about life for eat or eat for life. Firstly, we absolutely have to eat for enough energy to do our job--eat for life. Then, many people also enjoy the pleasure of tasting various food from different countries--life for eat. Everyone has a different way of life. To face life seriously and live up to our own wonderful life, is enough. Happy mylotting.

It seems i had wrong mentioned the meaning. But thanks anyway for the correction. I hope and i can see if all people here can understand my question. It's true that there's no absolute option of such thing in one person. However, it's all about the choice we take. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

i used to live to eat and i hated my weight issues associated with it so now i eat to live and i have lost 45 lbs in the last 4 months and i am very proud of my achievements. i cut back on my portions and on carbs for the most part and no foods are forbidden so there is no temptation. i just taught myself to only eat a little bit. then i took up exercising like walking, boxing, weights and more and the weight is miraculously coming off. still want to lose more and not happy with how i look just yet but i am hoping with more hard work and determination that i will get there some time soon!

You have found an effective way of "losing weight". I do agree that it's all about "input" and "output". If our "input" of food is high, we will naturally gain weight unless we are able to burn off all the excess through exercise, etc. With lower "input", that is if we eat less just enough for our body's need and nothing extra to develop into extra meat and worst still "fat". If we are determined and disciplined enough to control what we eat, we don't need to pay lots of money to let others help us to reduce weight (or blubber/fat), sometime to the extent of being "tortured". Maybe, you could start a discussion to share your success with other myLotters.

Hi dianmelydia I think everybody likes food, I mean food is fundamental things, we cant live without food, so in my opinion, food is life. ofcourse when we ate something we will feel lazy or sleepy, but we could get a lot of energy from food, then we can do things more fast and more effectively. Ofcourse sometimes after eating, I ll be lazy and feel sleepy.

I definatly eat to provide energy to my body. I look at food as a source of energy, and try to only put what my body needs into my body. I know what fuels me, and I try to eat those sorts of food. I can really feel a difference between when I'm eating to give my body what it needs, and when I'm eating to satisfy something emotinal with food. I try to not satisfy my emotions with food- there are other ways to deal with those feelings. I like food, but I see it as the gas that my body needs to keep moving.

of course i am not a very much eating person....i am satisfied with very less food and i do take it for energy for other works i have to do....i don't like eating so much, that it will cause laziness and make it hard for you to move or work.....i keep myself a bit empty at stomach to help myself light and able to do work...

I only eat as much and until my stomach gets full. I never take more than the first helping and avoid overeating. I have been doing this since 30 years and will continue to do so till the end of my life. I believe in the philosophy of eating to live and not the other way round.I try to eat healthy food and avoid junk food as much i can though i do indulge once in a way. This way i have avoided putting on excess weight and avoided obesity completely.

is it how Phynx said it is? I definitely eat to live. I have so many reasons to live than just eat. I wanna live my life and eating is just one reason of so many why i'm living.

We eat in order to live and work for it. Eating is already a habit to grow and be healthy.Eat all you can.

For me, life is more than eating. However, when we come back to the old sentence,"without eating, we cannot live"so, we do everything to make us feel full. But i think during the process, enjoying the happiness of life, tasting different kinds of life and then go to the destiny--eating, is a good way of life. Happy mylot~

This reminds me of a poetry a classmate of mine wrote when I was a little kid. Some people eat to live, others live to eat, and Most people are afraid to die. To me to die is to rest in peace, In eternal bliss I will lie. That time it meant very little to me and I though it sounded funny. Now that I am much older, it make sense to me. It is everyone's prerogative to do whatever they choose - whether to "eat to live or live to eat". They are responsible for whatever they choose and we cannot decide for them which is right or wrong.
