Many people don't like to reboot their PC after installing any software. Many software requires reboot after installing it. If you don't reboot after installing any software than it wouldn't work properly on your PC. I always reboot after doing any installation of software. What about you?

That is correct, but not applied in all softwares. Some softwares requires reboot and a message also appeared after finishing the installation. But some softwares are quit they are like shy people, it won't tell you to reboot ha.. ha.. At that point what will you do. I do reboot for good reasons. Have a wonderful day.

Hi grayxenon and bhagyaonline, Good to hear that you know the importance of rebooting our computer after installing softwares. As we going through this discussions many of us don't like to reboot PCs, there may be some natural reasons behind it. Many people engaged in important tasks they don't like to waste a bit of time. They know that it is important to reboot their system but they engaged in their work, they have proper reasons to delay rebooting process. But some of us have no proper reasons, we try to ignore it. Anyway, if we take care of our PCs than only it serves us better. Have a nice day.

Well... Not always... Some software actually do require you to reboot your computer, but most don't I don't like rebooting my computer though, because it get's always a little bit older and more used, which causes it to break earlier than what it would normally... Rebooting a computer makes it a bit faster though, and especially when you clear the RAM (on mac you have to keep command+alt+P+R to clear the RAM)

Ok you don't like to reboot because it is old and more used...:) Well, I think you are right at your place. But sometimes it won't help.. Your computer is old but it served you very well. Rebooting PCs after installation of software is applies to all PCs whether it is old or new one. And don't worry it won't effect the age of your PC. Thanks you really give a good example which will definitely useful for us. Have a nice day.

There are many things that I do not like doing in this life but I have to do it anyway. Rebooting the PC is one of them. Still when anything gets installed, it is necessary to do this. There could be errors without doing this and thus it is necessary to reboot after installing regardless of what it is, so everything can fully install. Of course, there are some software that forces the issue whether you want to or not. You know, automatically reboots the computer. Others, you might say later, but it will keep popping up time after time to bug you. Therefore, you might as well just reboot the computer now. Otherwise, you will keep getting the messages that will disrupt your day and will end up rebooting anyway to silence them.

Yes this is true that some softwares won't requires reboot. There is no message appears related to rebooting after installing it on our Pcs. But for the sake of good it is necessary to reboot our PCs after installing any softwares. The results will be better if we take it seriously. Because there is no harm to follow this habit. You have a very good habit. You are in the right track. Every time after we finish installing something in our PC or Laptop, it's better for use restart PC and Laptop. Why? By restarting PC and Laptop after installing software or software update, we will know if the software or update does not make any crash or conflict with hardware driver, O.S program system, or others addon software. And Installing or uninstalling software shall be followed by restarting PC or Laptop after the action done.

There are numerous softwares some ask us to reboot some doesn't, but our duty is to maintain our PC very carefully. If anybody's PCs crashes who takes the responsibility, all we accepts agreements before installing any softwares. Most of us even me don't have patience to read that agreement. In some agreement it is written that if PCs crashes after installing this software they have no responsibility. So why we take risks, it is better to do any installation properly. Have a nice day.

I agree with you. Mostly we never read installation agreement and Readme. Careless? Yes. But, Who wants to read all long and small or even tiny characters typed in it?

This depends on the program itself. Many installations require a reboot in order associate dll files and update the registry entries, but there also quite a few that do not require a reboot. Microsoft Ofiice is a good example, it always required a reboot up to as far as Windows Millenium, but when I started running Windows 2000 then installing Microsoft Office 2000 did not require it. Naturally I will reboot if required, but sometimes I shall suspend the rebooting for an hour or so if I intend to shut the system down anyway.

That is good example you have discussed. Most of the softwares don't requires reboot after installing it on our PCs. But if we do reboot than there will be no harm. Reboot requires only few minutes. Actually, PCs have its own rules and rebooting after installing software is one of them. We install any software not for a day or 2 but for a long run, so we can give a minute for reboot for better results. Have a nice day.

Sometimes I'm getting lazy to reboot my pc after installing a software specially if I am doing other tasks or my PC is slow so what I would do is just to choose the option to restart later. I'm just getting lazy to reboot my pc if the one I have installed were just small softwares but if it's a big software then I really have to reboot it. Have a nice day! Happy myLotting!

I have to admit I am one of those people who hates rebooting after installing a program. it's time consuming for me, silly, i know. sometimes it works, although most of the time it doesnt. I'm too hardheaded, i know. hahaha.

This happens to most of us. We don't like to waste a bit of time. But if we make it a habit to reboot after installing any software than there will be no harm at all. Sometimes we engaged in important task beside installing software, that is different issue. At that moment we can delay the reboot option for a while, but should restart immediately after finishing our work. Have a nice day.

I'm not such a big fan of restarting my computer after installing things because I have important things going on. Or, if it's a new computer I usually install more than 1 thing at a time. Once I'm done everything, then I'll restart my computer, otherwise I don't.

Well said, you are not a big fan of restarting... Hmm... This is common thing happens to most of us, we have always doing something important at that moment. At that situation we have no option other than continuing our work. See sometimes we don't like to do something which is of no worth. But in this case we can't ignore it totally. Have a great day.

I reboot my PC after installation. I think it has became a habit, more than a requirement. I Don't know if we really need to reboot it before using it. But it has been that ways since I started using computers.

You have a very good habit and appreciable. It is very important to reboot every time we install a new software. Sometimes a message appears to restart sometimes doesn't, but we must restart after installation of any softwares even it doesn't ask to do so. Our Pcs have some important configurations which requires update if any new softwares introduces in his area, and rebooting is to update their configuration. Have a wonderful day.

I only will if the software requires it, Also if the computer starts to run slow i will sometimes reboot it to refresh the memory.

That's good. Sometimes softwares won't give any message to reboot after installing it but I think it is better to do reboot every time we install any new software. You do reboot whenever your computer slows down. But this is different issue. Anyway have a nice day.

Well if I am doing something besides the installation I usually delay it for a few moment to finish whatever I am doing on my PC and reboot later. But, if I am only installing then I guess there is nothing wrong in rebooting my PC so that it would truly be installed on my PC.

That's good. And most of the people do this. If we do something else besides installing some software than it is important to complete the work first. But it is also important to reboot our system. And yes there is no wrong in rebooting our PCs. If we don't reboot than some of the files won't recognized by the system. And after rebooting the PC, it refreshes and recognizes all files and works well. Have a great day.

I sometimes do. Often you'll find that the program will run fine without the need to reboot, it's mostly done to make sure everything is installed fine and to give the computer a chance to get everything pieced together. I sometimes don't do it because I can't be bothered, as it can take awhile to install certain programs and then you have to reboot. If I don't plan on using it straight away, I will wait until I shut my laptop or computer down.

I only ever do this if I receive a message that my computer needs to be restarted! Otherwise I wouldn't normally bother. I know that a system restart is very important though as it configures the new settings of the software installed. I think it should be part and parcel of maintaining a system so that it works well and there are no problems encountered. Andrew

You have well defined the importance of rebooting PC after installing any software. But most of the people don't know how it is so important to reboot our system. If we don't do so than our PC may struck and we won't able to find any reason for that. Have a great day.

I think that's on your point of view.I experience to install O.S. Xp but I don't reboot again and again but wait until I have everything in the proper place until I reboot it. It's good to reboot if you have one software to install.

Most of the computers problem arises without any reason. See most of the people complained that his computer becomes slower.. why? he does not know. Some complained that his computer hanged without any reason. Someones hard disk crashed without any reason. Files get corrupted and so on.. But there are small things which effects in our long run. This is one reason. Have a wonderful day.
