Hello siliguri,
my first preference is always to travel by train as journey passes in comfort, but recently when we had to travel to South India for leisure trip, due to shortage of time we were forced to travel by air. The seating space in planes is so conjusted that my feet immediately get swollen. More over these day air travel is worse than train journey as for even getting water bottle, u hv to pay trice the amount. Whereas in trains, on every station the train stops, we get to eat speciality of that area.

I live in a small country so I always am able to travel by train, bus or ferry rather than go by plane within my home country. I love to go off traveling overseas. When I go to other countries I go by plane most often to a gateway city then I travel on local trains if they are available or buses.
Some people live in a very large country like Australia for example. Distances are long so it makes sense for them to fly on planes. Going from Brisbane to Cairns is 36 hours by train and a bit less by car. Likewise America is a large country it it has some fifty different states.

It depends. Just as somebody said, if I have to arrive at somewhere in a short time, traveling by plane seems to be the only choice. But compared with plane, I prefer to travel by train. Nowadays the government has been investing a lot of money building many high-speed railways. According to the plan, a basic high-speed railway network will be formed in 2012. At that time the average speed of the train could reach 300-350 kilometers per hour. Then traveling by train will be my priority choice.

if my travel is limited by time, of course I would choose to travel by plane, but if I want to enjoy my travel, I would choose to travel by train
