what is Rahul Dravid doing in the royal challengers' team?

I don't know y u underestimate rahul dravid..such a classy player he is...How many times did he comes to play in 7 number?..actually to the need of the team they send the player to play out in the pitch...He is the guy who had shown many times his capability..In ODI..if u don't know..he had made 50 runs of just 21 balls against NZ..Why he can't do in T20 also...IF ganguly can play so why not rahul...So..keep on watching..Rahul Dravid is going to rock..

Rahul comes in early if Kallis gets out early.The fact is that Kallis doesn't get out till the end of the innings in almost all the matches he has played till now in the tournament so far.Dravid & Kallis are supposed to be at one end whereas all the other players should be aggressive.The other players being Peitersen , Uthappa , Ross Taylor , Manish Pandey , Virat Kohli , White who are all agressive players revolve round Kallis & Dravid.So until Kallis gets out early you wont see dravid up the order.But 2 times Kallis got out early & Dravid got the chance to come up the order but failed to score much.Kallis & Dravid are much needed in the combination of the RCB team.

I think dravid also has the capacity to take the ball into the boundry. As u said he only got 4 chances, he didnt get the chance to play . In the last match it was too late for RCB to win . the team is giving chance to players like uthapa,kohli,pandey,white,... I an sure that if dravid bats at opening he can also score like kallis. kallis just make 50 runs in each game from around 40 balls . any ckassic batsmen cam play a knock like that . in t20 40 ball 50 is not a good batting

Rahul is definitely have the capacity to play as well as any batsman. And those who say Dravid cannot play big shots simply forget that Sachin didn't play any big shots, to be precise without hitting a single six he maintained an awesome strike rate with lovely timing and finding gaps. So Dravid can also score at a healthy strike rate. At least as Kallis is doing. It is nothing but prejudice of people who brand Dravid as a test player and cannot play big shots. It is just a pity that people never gonna see such players in future if they just want slam bang players on flat pitches and against mediocre bowling!

I think Rahul Dravid is a good player.. but he is a test player.. so he is not fit for a t20.. game.. and in this IPL-3 he don't play any good innings til that day.. so i think he is a best player for One Day and Test Cricket.. have a nice day and keep mylotting always..

Hi friend now you raised a few points which I want to clarify..1)Rahul should have been batting at number 3 or 4 but the recent performance of his team didn't require him to bat at all..2)In the last match they needed to get 12-14 runs per over at one stage and therefore the other players are allowed to come ahead of him..3)The ego or fame of the player should not come in between the requirement of the team..the team needed KP to bat at number 3 and that's why he did it..4)I don't think that RCB is wasting Rahul's capability it's just that the team never faced a damaging situation which required Rahul to play his copybook game and that's all..5)Who knows that in this ipl Dravid will produce another match winning performance like Jayawardene did for his side and both of them are classical cricketers and not sloggers.Let's just wait and watch.
