Dear ypyanyan,
I like your ideas of reuse the collected water for the plants
and garden. I too collect the water and flush the toilet. It
is definitely a good way to save and care for our natural resources.
Is there any good suggestion to save electricity?

As the population grows the scarcity of water becomes more severe. Urban dwellers continue to oblivious to the fact because the civic bodies try to cater to the needs of water. It is the rural population, nomadic groups who are faraway from water bodies who suffer to the maximum. One has to imbibe some measures from such groups to conserve the water. A time may come the luxury of water may disappear, and migration of human settlements may start wherever possible, as at the time of evolution. By the way, I remember to have seen a German design of a toilet the separate solids and water, where the solids go to make compost and the water is used for garden, (and even for drinking!) after treating.

hie hanuma, well that is interesting, a german design. i hope this design is economical so that it is marketable to this part of the world. actually i really dread the day where there is no drinkable water. i hope and pray there will always be water for drinking, cooking etc. the world is make up of a big portion of water. this treating ocean water for drinking would solve or reduce the scarcity of water for human consumption. still we have to do our part and be kind to water and use it carefully.

Water is a scare resource. As the result we ought to save water at all cost. One method of conserving water is to place a 500ml used mineral water bottle filled to the brim with tap water and place inside the cistern tank. Each time you flush water you save 500ml water. Multiply that by the numbers of time each family member flush per day and the total number of members and multifly by 365. That is fantistic savings! Three cheers for water conservation.

Its my mother who always managed to save water. Her idea and we are also doing it. Is to save the laundry water, for cleaning the bathroom or the car. Then at the same time we used it to flash the toilet bowl. Through those little things we can save lots of tons of water.

hie ada and hanu, thanks for the real good tip response. this is really the water oriented saving ways that was developed by ada. just like a little drop of water day by day becomes a mighy ocean, so to speak. there is savings everywhere when we care to see and observe. there are so many genuine and real easy and handy ways to save the water and the world. first thing, we save money in the long run as we use less water. great.

Well thanks to my mother who has a very creative idea. We are doing that ever since, my mother really like to save the usage water. That is why we have drum or big basin outside our house to save those water. Sometimes if its raining we are saving it for us to use it in bathing or washing the clothes.

For me, my way in conserving water is to used it as a part of your life. As a person that needs more water, I turn off the tap when the shower bath is enough to used, and also in brushing my teeth. I take a bath 3 times a day, so i conserved water for some useful things such us cleaning a car etc.

hie money4us, thanks for your thoughts. i see you keep the bath water for cleaning car for example. i have started doing this too. i use a pail of bath water to wash car. another pail of water for the plants. another pail for cleaning the windows etc. also i keep washing water to wash toilets and to scrub the drains. these are some ways we manage to save water and save our money too. at the same time we discipline ourselves to be water conscious.

yes sharuna, there are billions of people in this world. if one person just save 1 litre of water, just imagine how much water we have. unimaginable but true. its realy saving the earth and environment when all of us heave our shoulders together and do this saving of a litre of water to save the world. the gallons and gallons of water will be like the stars in the sky and the sand on all the beaches in the world. cheers, sharuna.

I hear you graceful, but you are not thinking! Just because you flush a lot of water does not mean the water is no longer there. There are many Natural Water Purification Systems using No Chemicals, that can, in a matter of days, turn waste water into drinking water once again. There is nothing wrong with your toilet, the problem is with your outdated City Sewage Disposal Lagoons. The Natural Purification Systems are not as expensive to operate as your existing City Sewage Disposal. Start thinking and talking about recycling your water, get modern, reuse your water (like they do on the Space Station) and save money doing it!

hie barehugs,
i hear you too. i must go around to scout for the information you gave me. it looks i can really save more money with those devices you mentioned. there is nothing like recycling water to use as we need water on a daily basis. without water there would be no life left in this world. so i want to do my part and stay and live alive.

Dear graceful dove,
You are absolutely right. Many have the habits of letting the tap runs
whilst we brush our teeth. In long run, it is a waste of resources
and money. I normally prefer to wash my clothes by hand near the car porch
because I can reuse the water to wash my car and the drain. And at the
same time, I can save the electricity and doing some exercises
of bending and squeezing. Look at the bright side of things :)

Yes, you are right that water is getting scarce. We really need to conserve water. Other ways we can conserve water is by 1)checking faucets and toilets for leaks (usually they waste so much water, especially when not noticed); 2)taking shorter showers; 3)washing your car with a nozzle on the hose.;4) you could also try to recycle your water by using the water used for washing dishes for watering the plants. Hmm?.. I think that's all I know how.

hie kharlav, thanks for your practical tips. yes faulty faucets do cause damage to our pockets as we have to pay more for water bill and at the same time water leakage leads to wastage. i am learning to recycle washing water for watering plants and cleaning drains and corridors. in a way, its a little exercise for me to carry the water around the compound of my home.

Hi, Gracefuldove.
You brought forward a thought-provoking topic. Water is a very precious resource that we can't live without it. The southwest of my country-China is now experiencing a very severe drought which caused heavy losses to our country and the people. The electricity, agriculture and people's everyday life have been seriously affected. So to speak, to save water and conserve water is a considerable pressing matter of the moment.
Happy mylotting!

Water is life can not be dispensed from the water I think most people seeding and do not know its value Whatever we do, we can not control the method of preserving it from my point of view we need water for bathing, washing teeth washing clothes and eating utensils, and wash your face in the morning and cleaning the house either to drink where I live can not drink tap water so there is no region in the mountain out of a natural sweet water used by everyone to drink.

Yeah! you're water is really getting scare due to environmental pollution and also especially in the summer. Actually our Home residing near a river we never bother about the water usage lot of water is wasted. But who're away from the water resources they really pay much to survive with the water. Of course you're right but how many of us using showers to bath. The better way to conserve water is recycling the water and also to implement water maker from the air.

hie ara,you got the point. not many people have showers. i live in the city. so i had a 'session' with my family. we talked at length and we agreed to install showers in the bath areas. that does not mean we have to do away with bath tubs. the bath water are stored and recycle. that means a little more work, have to carry the used water to water plants and general washing. so my hubby opted his bath water for toilet use. mine goes for watering plants. my children carry their used water to do general washing like cleaning cars, scrub the drains and the windows and doors and mopping the floors. the person who decides to do with their used water, do the job or chores. hmmm, i have less chores to do in some area. yes delegation and sharing of chores to release me to unwind and relax with a cuppa of tea. yes the freedom to choose to do with their used water compared to earlier days we just threw the 'precious ' used water away.my family is happy in this as they get to share in household responsibilities , doing something manual and not the brain power in the office. thus used water is recycled and put to better uses. we are on the right track to save mother earth. now these little saving will help help me have more money in my pockets through the months. as i am the home maker i have to come out with ways to save and conserve with cooperation, ideas and love from family. my sucess is theirs too. the end result, we all gain by doing our part, ara. have a pleasant day ahead.

hie fansil, thanks for your observation. water is getting scarce by the day and years. we cannot live without water as our body is 75% water. without water , dehydration sets in and that is where the trouble will begin. we really have to be united and start recycling water, water treatment and water conservation. for this to happen, the family unit has to save water and the economic use of water in the house. next the factories need to monitor their water usage too. nationwide everyone has to do their part and its no easy feat. start small and move forward to save the water and the world.

we should do our part at home to help conserve water. before i step out of the house and before i sleep i make sure that the faucet is turned off properly. i also recycle water by using the water that i used for rinsing clothes in cleaning the restroom and flushing the toilet.

With water resources turning scarce day by day, it is fine if all of us put checks on usage of water to a lesser level.

Hi, gracefuldove. When I am brushing my teeth, I will have the water turned off. And when I am washing the dishes, the water will be turned off too. I only run the water when I am rinsing my hair, taking a bath or shower or cleaning something out. That is the only time that my water will be running. I don't like to use up a whole lot of water either.

I conserve by taking 3 minute showers, also not running the water while brushing my teeth. I also brought HE washer that using less water. I run my diswasher every other two to three days. Never everyday. My yard has a sprinkler/Drib system that saves on water usage. I was clothes only twice a week to also help save.

hie lelin, i have taken notes on all your saving tips. there are oh so practical and saves water, time and money. we kill 3 birds with one stone so to speak. wow , the way you manage your chores, you are a wonderful lady who release time to yourself and family instead of washing the dishes every day. you wash clothes twice a week and that is definitely what i should learn. i have to unlearn old habits and relearn new, time saving habits. i come from a family, everything must wash, not sitting in the sink or on the table unneccessary. even clothes are not spared as they are worn for the day and into the bin for washing the next morning. i have to adjust to all these. i am very happy as i get 'free' time now with these new protocols of handling the home duites and obligations. cheers to you, lelin.

Here in my place the under-ground water level is going down day by day, this is due to the large number of industries here that consume water, a day may come all ponds, wells will dry up, i have a friend in KL, she was telling me about this too,,
let us not waste water, rather conseve it..
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome always.
Cheers.

we try as much as possible to wash with a full load of clothes with the washing machine. we recycled the dirty water to flush the toilets. we use a pail of water or two to wash the car. we collect the water we use to wash our uncooked rice (before we cook them, rice-eaters like myself would understand this), to water our plants. and amazingly they grow well too.
